i am new to the srt10s. i have a stock 05 QC

i am just wondering if guys could get me started and let me know where u would spend your FIRST $1500 on mods for this bad boy.

and also a little bit of feedback on how far i can go on an auto tranny. heard that can be a limitation....

goal is too run into the 13s at attitude (colorado) i have heard i run around 14.5 stock so basically how much is needed to cut .5-.7 off the 1/4.

thx sean

$1500 is a drop in the mod bag. I would suggest getting the 170 T stat and SCT tuner first followed by the Magnaflow catback system, and ending with a K&N CAI.

BTW Welcome to the ZOO.

Welcome:rock: I agree with Brad. You should be able to get rid of thoes cats as well and still be within your budget...

Welcome aboard. I would think you'll be spending your first $1,500.00 on fuel with today's gas prices.:dontknow: But all joking aside, your best bet is to get done what was mentioned before. Good luck on your 13 second time plan. I believe you will achieve that for sure.

Welcome to the RBC! Brad has hit the nail on the head (plus either cat deletes or hi-flows).

What color did you get?

1) Catless mid-pipes
2) Catback exhaust or replace mufflers
3) K&N drop-in filter (some contreversy whether a CAI improves HP or not - they look cool though!)
4) PCM flash of some sort

BTW, welcome!

And as others have said, we love pics here! :D

CAI-------It looks cool!!!!:D :dito:

i started out with the dc stage 2 headers and deleted my cats. unless your going with a supercharger or turbo later thats the way to go or you could get a kick ass nitrous system and cal tracs.

Absolutely, positively, the very first things to do to get the most bang for the buck.
Welcome to the RBC

Glad you made it over here Sean. These guys know there stuff. It is how I got all my knowledge. Last year my best was 14.1 with good air for us. My mods at the time was DC stage II flash and drag radials. I can't wait to make it to the track again to find out what my winter mods will get me. During the winter I have added a CAI, deleted my cats and will have headers on soon. I am hoping I can get a 13.8:burnout:

Also last year I raced with one our Colorado members "Get Bit" and he was running 14.1 to my 14.3. He had a drop in K&N, Magnaflow catback, and a flash.

If I were you and I had $1,500 I would get those POS HP restricting exhaust manifolds off and slap some Long tube headers on. First things first. You need to let this beast breathe. After that I would go cat back with highflow cats. Then worry about getting the tune.

for your first 1500 bucks send me a money order ,,,then save up for your mods later ,,,just my opion lol:elefant:

On a QC the tune is the first thing to fix, IMO.

Roz nailed it I think....

Welcome to the RBC!

lol i like the hookers thing. i think thats the best advise.

hey thx for the welcome guys and thx for sending me here chuck (wyoramsrt-10)

looks like i can learn alot of good shit over here. maybe even how to get laid.

so i got to ask the question.

dc vs sct tuner.......

i asked wyoram what he thought. i would like a few opinions over here. i dont want to turn this into a post on just that subject so short response is fine. but cost vs. performance.

or as a few of u said best bang for the buck.

with the idea in mind i dont think i will ever do turbo or charger. i want to try to keep this truck simple so it will last.

sct you can check codes and erase them and if you have to run back to dealership you can go back to stock in 10 mins

brad said t stat and roz didnt. whats the scoop on it and is it nessesary. and i am hear different tstats in different posts. like 170s and 175s. what should i be going with for the ideas u guys are bouncing off to me.

i am gettin the idea that cat delete should be there and a tuner and air intake.

is a cat delete a good idea without doing anything else to the exuast or do i need to do more at a time there.

and what should i expect to pay on each of these things so i have an idea what will cost what.
