As far as I know you won't have too tight a clearance at all. If anything you need to space the slave, but not being spaced just means the slave has too much clearance and have nothing to do with blowing out. Maybe air was in the lines still and when you pressed clutch...boom. Not sure bro but I don't see any issue worth selling the truck for. Yea pulling and installing tranny gets old but there's a good reason the slave blew. Whether you weren't meant to be out driving last night or whatever. There was a reason. before I stepped on the pedal I opened the bleeder screw to let some air out. I had the same kit before the jtsvp one with zero problems.
 
I use the cheapos master and slave and power shift great. I recommend the truck slave to all I do swaps for.
 
why o why people go from auto to manual in a QC....:confused:

why even buy a manual car in this crazy traffic these days...:dontknow:

i hope u keep this red beast , is one of my favorit red QC's.
put back a decent auto tranny in with steerpedals , then u can shift also , i believe Chevy has great auto tranny's. (see BatRam)

Wouldn't air make the unit move less not more? Air in a hydraulic system compresses when under pressure and does not give the force that fluid does.

Not everybody is the same, some like blondes and some like brunettes. I personally think automatics are boring as all shit, and none of my cars are automatic(except the wife's). I have had my 2004 RC SRT-10 since new and have loved all 66,000 shifting miles, but if you can't shift or you prefer an automatic then that is great with me.:rock:

Sammy, omg I wish you could drive or ride in my truck. Wow is it totally different than a boring 48re that can't hold the power. No matter what gear I choose I can always be in my power band. Autos..... Not so much. Please, if you haven't already, watch my vids of a QC banging gears bro! :chain:

Well said bro. IMO dodge should've offered RC autos and QC manuals factory being they made the block specific and the cost of doing that versus the amount used. 2 years and Quad Cab only as the 48re SRT10 is slightly different from the Cummins version. Very slight!
Mine has been nothing shy if phenomenal especially when you consider the feel all RC guys have shifting at redline and catching the next gear with a great friend beside ya as you spank an unknowing Vette owner and his girlfriend, BUT with 4 friends plus yourself doing the same thing due to a back seat. :chain:
 
I'm one of those guys who loves a blond I love my auto but I'll get me an rc some day to bang some gears
 
And for the record....I prefer a large breasted (natural, not fake) brunette....just sayin.
 
you need an 1/8th plate behind the slave, if its actually blowing it out(to much travel) I have one in my truck. It would work fine with a brand new clutch but after some light wear it would blow out. Is it just cracking it around the inner circular part? If so then I know whats doing that too.

I didn't say I was switching to an auto...yet, gonna hammer on the rear end tomorrow to see how it holds up it certainly feels like its turning over better(new bearings, carrier, cryod spiders)

Depends on slave/clutch combo. A clutch based off the factory LUK clutch/presssure plate need no spacing. Viper slave does need spacer and believe its more than 1/8" isn't it?
 
I wish I had the fkn $ to make my QC a manual. I hate this auto bs. Not being able to select what gear you want to be in is like having a gorgeous woman in your bed and taking forever to decide which hole you wanna stick first. Im actually thinking about getting rid of the QC and getting a RC. Its faster (from stock) and it a manual. I guess the kids sittin shotgun and Ill put a wife seat in the bed.

After I just spent the time and money to have my auto built rock solid, I see myself going the 6 speed route as well. It will allow me to control the power a lot more than I can now. Besides, my wife said I was making gear changing sounds in my sleep last night. So I guess it's inevitable.
 
Yeah,thats going to be my next BIG mod is a tranny swap,my tranny has been perfect since the HTS parts were all put in,but I just want more control of the tranny and the extra 40 RWHP or so would be a bonus too!!
