I'm just curious:

No, in fact, if anything it has reinforced my beliefs and trust in my decision. But I do appreciate everyone's opinion and enjoy the debate.

NO.....Not any; not one; none.
Nay; not; not at all; not in any respect or degree; -- a word expressing negation, denial, or refusal. Before or after another negative, no is emphatic.
A refusal by use of the wordd no; a denial.
A negative vote; one who votes in the negative; as, to call for the ayes and noes; the noes have it.

But I enjoyed reading some..

No,

It's not easy to turn a right winged nutjob such as myself into a bleeding heart socialist liberal.

Just as you won't be able easily to turn a weenie left wing libby into a right winged nutjob.

Now, I tend to actually be more libertarian than a full fledge right wing nutjob, but fiscally I have real challenges with the left. However I have had my mind changed on social issues from time to time, so for me there's still grey area with regards to ...immigration issues, euthenasia, drug legalization, homosexual marriage... just to name a 'few'. I'm still not sure what to make of the new 'global economy' approach this country is taking.. a few decades ago it was unskilled labor being outsourced now it's skilled labor being outsourced. I realize this country is an infrastructure based servicing country (for the most part)... but is the direction we're taking a good one?? I'm not sure...

I usually stay away from the poltical discussions on this board because it usually turns into a pissing contest.... besides I know I'm right all of the time anyway... so pointless to argue :p (yes that was a joke)

So to sum up... issues in my opinion are debatable and I've skewed my viewpoints based upon other's opinions, but the fundamentals behind conservatism and liberalism is not going to sway easily... i.e. do I believe in gov't controlled healthcare, increased taxes, more redistribution of wealth, uhhh (just to name a few)... no I don't... I kinda liked with Barrack Obama had to say early on... but the more he opened his mouth the more I disliked him... and Hillary was WAY too far to the left for me. With that said, I was kinda a fan of slick willy... economy was going well... he was pretty moderate all things considered and if memory serves me correctly, didn't we have a surplus during his time? McCain's my guy, I personally thought if he could get away with it he'd have gotten Lieberman on his ticket... but the republican party wouldn't have tolerated that... McCain's a moderate, I'm suprised more people don't like him... and when it comes down to the wire, I honestly believe that the majority of this country will prefer a moderate not someone that is going to rock the proverbial boat...

There's my 2 cents... sorry kinda rambled.... too bad :p

Interesting and a good read!

I'm counting that as a "NO"..... from my brother, Ryan....

So far, not a fking soul has said that they had changed their mind.

That doesn't mean that we should necessarily stop the discussion, but it may decrease the perceived notion that we should attempt to persuade others....

Ain' nobody beein' pasuaded in iss house......

D

Nope, no change here...........

Gut feeling??
His past voting record??
Past dealings with domestic terrorist??
His great list of accomplishments??

I dont know what it is but I just dont like Obama........

Hell I would rather vote for Clinton before this schmuck!

After Palin's speech tonight you would have to be deaf and dumb to vote for Obama!! Palin flat out nailed the democrats tonight!!

In the very least we can agree on that........... ;)

And it seems unanimous (so far) that with the exception of elusive and politician-like responses from a few...... That no one... Not one person has been persuaded, dissuaded, eschewed, assuaged, provoked, poked, prodded, browbeaten or bitch slapped into having their preference for President altered in any way....

This is not to say that the debate is without merit..... Roy can elaborate on what a totally bitchen endeavor it has been...... But, the rancor and bile generated has all gone down the Suwannee like so much piss in the wind. Because no one - not a fkng SOUL has changed their mind.

As a result of the multitude of political discussions and threads posted here, has anyone changed their mind(s) regarding which ticket gets their vote for President of the United States.

I would set up a poll, but I think the answer is obvious. If anyone has changed their mind I'd love (for) them to tell us about.... No bullshit.

D

Nope...still unchanged. VP is Hot too. :D

There are some here who want to be seen as great thinkers and kiss whatever butt is necessary to achieve it. The stroking in some of these threads (by those of similar opinions) is almost disgusting.

That's probably me you're talking about, but whatever. I'm by no means a "great thinker" nor will I ever fool anyone into thinking I will be, sorry if I came across that way. I do know how to read though, so I guess I'm not a total meathead..........

But to answer the question, no. The analyst for fox new and cnn are doing their best to make me want to not vote for either one.

There should be some serious ethical reform in the media. Not just limited to repubs or dems either, they are all full of crap. :burnout:

No, I believe Tim is referring to me. I think anyone that does not believe the way he does are categorized as "want to be seen as great thinkers"...so be it. It might be true.

I am an acknowledged snob. I have little tolerance for ignorance because it is just a result of being lazy...ignorance is curable. But if some do not want to do the work to ferret out the facts from the fables that is certainly their choice. They just continue to erode their personal credibility. Reading is a good first step...but it must be broad based reading of carefully scrutinized material. Most all material is biased to some extent. Be sure you understand the ulterior motives of the author, then apply that knowledge to the words used and the words not used.

id say no, i liked obama's speech. but i still dont trust him for some reason. cant quite put my finger on it. im gonna stay with McCain. i do like reading the debate's and hearing everyone's take on what they see. takes all kinds in this world and on this forum. i dont agree with what everyone believes but thats normal. keep this going fellas. good info
