What is hands down the best ECONOMICAL bang for the buck mod for a QC.. I was leaning towards a tune but seeing as that's $500+ not too economical I plan on doing much to it as time goes on (sc, tune,header, mids, muffler...) but just want a bit more grunt for now. I was thinking an exhaust since I got a buddy who owns a shop n said he'd do it for only parts cost which could be as little as $100. Any input wd b greTly appreciated.
 
I vote tune for the QC. Removes torque management and it's a completely different truck after. BUT, removing torque managment shortens the lifespan of your transmission, so be prepared! How much it shortens it depends on your driving...
 
sorry to tell you bro but everything on our trucks is fricking buku bucks! You either have the bolt on route or the extremely expensive power adder/ built motor route.....I'm trying to decide myself now....
 
Ok if Money is the Key/Main idea here then go with the K&N Drop-In Air Filter to let it breath and then do the Cat Delete. Depending on where you live and the State Inspection requirements you can do either the Full Cat Delete or if they are required do the the Rear Delete. Those only take a little time and effort. High Flow Cats are also an option if they are required (only about a hundred each).

That should get you about 30-35 Free Ponies... The rest will start to cost... You need to figure on about $500 for a tune at some point as has been already mentioned.

+4 on the SCT.

Cheapest would have to be what Chief said. But a Tune wakes a QC up and difference is amazing.
 
A BIG boost in torque with the performance tune and it IS cheap compared to the next big boost...;)

Yes, this is true. 15.3 to 14.2 for me...which doesn't really compute because that would take nearly 100 horsepower to get that much of an improvement, normally.
You don't get 100 horsepower with a flash. It is the TORQUE that gets the job done in this case...I saw an increase of 85 ft. lbs or so under peak. And of course getting rid of the "Torque Management" doesn't hurt either.

nt rly worried about that... i drive it like i would my v6 f150 for the most part.. tickets for me = no job:mad: :mad: :mad:

Is that an error? Now way a stock QC srt only runs 15's!! Iv'e always heard they'll run high 13's to low 14's stock depending on weather.....
