JTSVP or Roe? or JMB?

I love my McGaugheys 2/4 drop kit. Had it for 2 years now and is my daily driver. Never had any issues with the kit.

How many people actually drive other trucks with different lowering kits to be able to judge difference in ride? Just a thought. :D

I bought the McGaughey's for $300, and I've put over 60k miles on it since. It rides like a sports truck to me, wasn't expecting an Escalade type ride when I installed it. :D

I have an X metal kit that I bought with the truck and it rids like crap. Im not sure of the drop but you feel every little bump

Why don't I come on and defend our products anymore? because we don't have to.We have let our customers do our talking for us, and our customer service. We put in tons of R and R on our vehicles and help with customers we get it right, we don't do discount bargain parts, which goes for everything including all the way to our oil lines that the people of the forum in the beginning asked us to do along with all else we do. We produce what folks ask us for.

but here is one I will share, and please enjoy yourself having fun tearing it apart, 80% of the SRT10 lowered trucks out there have our lowering kit, and here is why.

""Another please dont do

I guess I am sharing some of my experiences in hopes they get out there a bit to folk

I had a customer call up last week upset with the ride on his 06 RC, he had been told, although he was not sure but that he had purchased a truck with my lowering kit.

and could not stand the way it rode! horrible, bumpy, bouncy so forth.
So I had him check a couple things.

he found first he was riding on the bumpstops, later on he found the pics below, someone had cut the springs,

now let me explain something, we did a ton of research on the springs, hot ram being one of the guinea pigs , but tried several different versions on many trucks our on and customers. my past has tons of experience in suspension, so we know how to get it right
you can use different springs, but the spring rate plays a HUGE part In how a vehicle rides, there are many out there , but they are sprung for hemi trucks, totally different ride, I cannot count the number of springs we have sent out to replace other brands.
ours are specifically sprung for the SRT trucks, and ONLY them, they don't work on hemis! or vica versa!

now, with that said, someone had cut the oem springs, this totally changes the spring rate! big time! but as you can see they cut them , this set the suspension dead on the bump stops, basically he had NO suspension travel at all!, Plus once you cut springs, they slowly over time will lose even more compression and rate, so basically you end up be bopping down the road like a teeny bopper.

We sent out the customer some of our custom springs, had him pick up bump stops and well I wont say the words he said, but sob if he wasn't one happy soul!

so please, I know some things are costly, I wish I could order 5000 of things sometimes to reduce cost, but it just isn't feasible right now, but take the time, do it correctly, give yourself and the legend you drive the pride it needs, and the ride it needs. ""

oh, and thanks again for the heads up sir

Yeah. I called JTSVP and Tony confirmed that the 2/5 kit comes with rear shocks only. He also said that the Bilstein factory front shocks were really the best available for an SRT-10- so i'll be getting those too.

IMO- competition is a good thing. There is nothing wrong with having multiple vendors. I like the fact that I can go to multiple websites and compare what each vendor is trying to do. I have never done business with anyone except Tony so far- and I have been pleased with the results.

2/5 kit and every urethane bushing is the way im gonna go!

I thought this thread was about ride quality, hence my previous post as to how many of us have driven multiple trucks with different drop systems to compare ride quality. I just happened to get a good price on my kit, not sure what going rate is.

Are any of the available kits adjustable? I tow every once in a while and I don't want the front end up in the air 1 foot once I attach a trailer. It would be nice to level out the QC while not towing and still tow something.

I have heard that some people get air bags for the back and can raise the truck up when towing is necessary.

I'm not sure what happened , just assuming because a certain vendors name was mentioned. Shit always gets erased when that happens. Starting to get annoying on a grown ass man forum.
Obviously a post that talked about a certain vendor mentioned above, so it got erased, right?
What happened to all the posts here? I read a few and now they all went poof. Something happen?
I admit it, it was me.

No post have been deleted by the staff.
Not true. I deleted the posts that I thought needed to be deleted.

i didn't see anything deleted, either:dontknow:
That's beacause I deleted them. Deleted = gone. Surprised you don't know that, D.

Just as a reference to the JTSVP Extreme kit for the quad cabs, here is a before:

And here is an after:

It rides better now that its lowered. Before it felt like I was riding around on a bag of marshmallows.

It was shinier before the install. Do they make a kit that will keep the truck shiny after installation?

Im not sure, the truck was so fast afterwards it stripped off all the wax during high speed runs. The only way to keep it shiny is to drive it like a little pansy, which is illegal in South Carolina.

If u have the extreme kit ...what the fuck do I have, extreme plus... ..mines is a lot lower than yours

Lol, in the front, I got some new springs he was trying out that arent as low as yours. I mean, he offered me the same drop that you have, but I didnt want a static drop that low. And in the back…Im not sure, we should be the same..dont see how you could go any lower without constantly hitting frame, or notching...:dontknow:

I have airbags in the back and different bump stops..it doesn't bottom out

So you have bump stops, which means your frame is not c-notched, which means we should still have the same drop in the back right? Are they helper bags that you have to manually fill to tow shit?
