probably a 9/16 gear wrench and a phillips screw driver to remove the housing...

its a easy install, no you dont have to pull the ring off the console, console out three 8mm bolts, oem shifter, 4 allen heads, yank it out, silicone base, shifter in four bolts in, three bolts back in console, three in lever, bam your done
