Ken (NBT) is out of Surgery, Dawn back in the Hospital.

Morning gang,

Well a progress report is in order (hope your all not completly over this BS yet).

We both have multiple MD appointments today, so I got the day off work.
Speaking of work...can you believe the Fire Department let a jackass like me handle the Accredidation :dontknow:   :pcguru:

Your tax dollars "hard at work" ;)

honestly though.... I have to say Dawn has improved, however slight...it's
an improvement. She has been driving, and getting out to the grocery. She finally got the chance to use one of the gift cards she got from Mom for Christmas:eek: so she had the chance to go shopping...(most of it went to groceries) She paid for it later, she was pretty sore...but she got a three hour day out of it, and she was happy to get out of the house. Cognitive progress is a constant, and not an issue. Her back is still mottled, and I believe it will be a permanent reminder of this entire event.:dontknow:
To date talking to a lawyer, or getting a call back is right there with the sighting of Sasquach :dontknow: I get the impression they are not impressed, and I get the feeling sometimes, it's not worth the journey:dontknow: I am getting tired of all the insurance paperwork, finger pointing/excuses, ect... then to involve legal council:banghead:
I understand now why people give up after all the time you have to put in trying to get things right. Brutal. I have certainly learned, that mistakes come easy....fixing one is not.
Dawn get's her PICC line out Tuesday, then next week should prove interestinng, as we meet with the surgeon one more time. I knnow he is well over this event, and I expect him to "clear her". He also wanted to skip the PT when we were there the last time...and just let her go.... that's when it was apparent he was over it. She must have PT, so she can get some core strength, balance, and endurance. She still has fair ammount's of pain with movement, and is fatigued easily after "minimal" (up to three hours) exertion.

I got to run, I have PT @ 09:00, and an MD appoinntment at 10:10... I will continue this when I get back, and have time between mine and Dawn's MD visits.

Great update!

Thanks for keeping us up on this stuff Kenny! I, for one, am not "over it" until you and Dawn are back to work full-time and off of limited duty!

Keep up the good work!!

Thoughts and prayers continue!!

How's "our" Hibiscus doing? :D

New guy

Who are Ken and Dawn and what happened to them?:dontknow:

Ken is one of the original member of the VTCOA, and one of the best! True salt of the earth people!!

There are several threads here that explain exactly what they have been through, but this is the short version.

He and Dawn both have recently, (within the last 4-5 months) had surgeries that have made it impossible for them to work full time, if at all. We have come together to help them through a difficult time in their lives that they had no control over!

Thanks for the update my friend.....

Hang in there ....We surely will....:)

Bless you and Dawn...

Stefan....

Keep on keepin on Ken and Dawn !!!Small steps are still steps in the right direction !!!You both are still in our thoughts and prayers !!!But I do see you adopting a horizontal pose to frequently now !!!As you said, those tax dollars hard at work !!!At least you're back at work though !!!They still don't think that shifting that 6spd would be therapeautic huh ??Due time my friend, due time !!!

Thanks for the update. Hope you all are doing well. You are in my thoughts. If I thought a prayer would do any good I would do that too, but it really doesn't. I hope nothing but the best for you all. Let's hope the auction funds did some good.

After reading all the other stuff on the forum I came across this update   My God, I am happy to hear you are both doing a little better. Our thoughts and prayers are with you both each day. Hang in there, and GOD BLESS YOU BOTH :D :D

Thanks for the hibiscus :dancing: :star: :dancing:

Happy Memorial Day

I just picked back up on this thread and was reminded of how blessed I and my family are.

I have not talked with Ken for a few days but after reading what a few of you have posted I got out the check book and addressed an envelope.

Anyone that can help out please do so.

Wish I could but it seems Charity has gotten the best of me. But that is Neither here nor there. :)

Ken, Sounds like you and Dawn are doing much better physically than the last time I checked in! I am proud of both of you! Keep up the faith and the hard work!

Luv,
Krazy!:D

Couldn't send as much as I wanted, but every little bit helps.

I hope others will be able to do the same.

Keep pluggin Ken, and tell Dawn we are all hopeing she gets though this as quickly as possible.

Bill.

Well...hat to update this way... but I guess it's part of liffe...

I'm toasted.... Been a f****d up two days... looks like Dawn is on pace for a gallbladder removal. She has been sick as he ll, and :puke: :puke: for most of it. Seems as if all the IV antibiotics fried her Gallbladder, and she get's an ultrasound in the am. I fear that another surgery is going to be unbearable, and can only pray it goes without complication.
Her work was nice enough to call today, and let her kjnow she has no job anymore, and I can somewhat understand them not holding her position anymore... after all it's been 7 months. Been a hell of a run fellas... but It's time for the truck to go.:( Realigning all the remaining finances, and bracing for the worst.

I can't tell you all what an honor it has been to be on the receiving end of all the thought's, prayer's, support, calls, cards, financial assistance, pm's, and host of other "gift's" that I can not recall at the moment. I may be taking a small commercial break from the forum for a bit, till I can get all this worked out... I will be attempting two full time jobs here shortly, so my time will be rather limited. We will see where this goes.:dontknow:

Thank God for everyone here that has been a support system for me and Dawn over the past few months... but I feel that we have burdened you all enough with this BS... and you all deserve the break form our burden as well.

Mikey....great talking to you today... you will always be my brother.
I promise to always be here, as my loyalty will always be to the great people of the VTCOA... I have made lifelong friends here, and will never abandon you.

I got to run...Dawn is sick again.... I hope this goes ok.:dontknow: :(

Please keep us in thought's and prayers... and I promise to check in and let you know how were doing....

Life change is about to go 360 on us.

This is bad and I will help in any way possible......Mikey

Damn Ken, that is the worst news I have heard yet.

Please keep us informed on what is happening. I know it would kill some of us not knowing.

Both you and Dawn are still in our prayers.

Best of luck and hope all goes well from now on.

Ken it seems if it wasn't for bad luck you and Dawn would have no luck at all. I wish you both all the best, please keep in touch when you can.

God, please help Ken and Dawn as they travel this difficult road.
