Keyless Push Button Start..KOOL..

Not with the 05-06. You'd still need to the transponder near-by. . . ?

Anyways, if they want it, they're going to get it. May as well make it easy for them!!! :D

When you get in the car the dash lights come on like you turned the key to the on position.......if you left the button on all the time I guess it wouldbe like leaving your key in the ignition turned to the on position..:dontknow:

You're right. I wasn't thinking. You'd still have to turn the truck to the "run" state somehow. . .

By rewiring the button, you could prob get the starter to turn, but no fuel would flow, and no spark would ignite . . . Silly me.

'd like one that can do both a remote start from outside the vehicle AND have it in your pocket and just push the starter button. I've got my alarm guy on to it and hope to have something installed with the next month. It's something a Batram must have lol. Imagine coming out of the gas station in the forecourt just leaving the door and then starting that Batram to life - hell yeah!!

That would be a good combo Carl....remote start & keyless push button start.......some cars already have it......and I didnt ask..the Chally may be remote too...Mopar offers a remote start..:dontknow:

There is a video on Youtube of a guy with a Chev Blazer? and he has a Compustar which a few members here have. He said you can start it outside no worries but it will turn off after a pre-selected amount of time and the only way to keep it running is to hop in then put the key in, sounds kind of weird and defeats the purpose, no? I would have thought a card or sensor on the fob did that, maybe I'm/he's wrong. Definitely looking harder into this style start.

UPDATE: For those of you like myself who come on here for the tech and performance stuff I thought I'd update. I have recently had a Viper remote start alarm system fitted and all I say is, It's very cool. Being a manual it wasn't as bad as me and my alarm guy expected. The model is: Viper 5901 and it's their latest system using the LC3 SuperCode transponder and SST 2-way security system. It has a 1 mile range in a straight line of sight. Fooling it to think the clutch is in and setting the e-brake stuff was quick to do. I was tempted at one stage to have the truck so no clutch was needed to start it but, I thought better of it and will still use the clutch to enable me to start the truck, it's also a good security plus, I guess.

Setting the BATRAM to remote start mode is easy as hell. Pull up, foot on the brake, in to neutral, E-Brake on, let go of the pedal brake and hit the remote start button on the remote. Pull the keys out and the truck still runs, close the doors and arm when you are ready. The truck will turn off just as soon as you hit the remote and the doors will lock. I like things clean and simple so I removed the annoying multi siren BS and had the normal single siren only and the extra flash lights were removed and instead of the park lights we used the indicators (looks tidier). I also have a headlight delay. Truck starts then 3-5 seconds later the head and fog lights come on, just a neat addition and a little show boating, nothing less lol.

The remote start takes around 5 seconds once you hit the button on the remote. Instant would have been cool but there is a lot to it and 5 seconds is pretty quick for what it has to achieve. I also added a voice box with a custom "ED-209" from Robocop style voice. It's commands are "BATRAM Armed", "BATRAM Disarmed" and when the remote start is activated it says: "BATRAM Activated". I have a switch on the roof console to have no voice if needs be, it's there if I want it and is cool as hell, can't wait to try it out in a busy gas station forecourt with no one in or near the truck lol. I will post some videos once the BATRAM is fully complete which should be in 2-3 weeks although I think I said that 2-3 weeks ago LOL Anyhow, this is just an update. I like the Viper alarm so if you are looking for a remote start for your SRT/10 Truck definitely don't overlook the Viper 5901. I am VERY happy.

It is also quite customizable, very in fact. You can set things like remote sensing, temp conditions, siren chirps, run time, lcd light display and lots and lots more, most of which by the remote control. It does drain power but plugs in to charge, thought that was cool. The none 2-way last a lot longer but doesn't offer the same capabilities, obviously.
