the engine blocks on automatics are NOT the same as the 6 speed.

the dowl on the passenger side is off by 1/2" ,everything will line up except the passenger dowl.

what this means is if ur buying an engine to replace yours make sure the engine has the same setup as yours before u try and swap them!(qc to qc) or
( rc to rc)

Sounds like you had to find this out the hard way . . . :dontknow:

Dave at Roe alluded to engine difference between the RC and QC requiring a different passenger side header from Belanger for QC's. Believe he said the QC motors are mounted slightly toward the passenger side as opposed to centered on the RC's.

...the '03 car blocks are unique, the '04-'06 RC truck blocks and 04'-06' car blocks are the same. The QC blocks are unique, but can be made to work.

The 04 and 05/06 blocks are different on cars and trucks due to knock sensors

there all pushed off to the passenger side 4 to 6 inches. i was told that they did that for more driver side foot space

HP

I've been told the 2006 QC makes less (B)HP than his 2005 QC brother, i.e. is slooower :p
Thank god I got a 2005
But is any of this true ? Howcome ? Different RPM limit at kickdown? :dontknow:

yes... counting up HP you have in the list 06 QC,05QC and top ALL RC's :p :p :p :p :p

so do you have a fix for this or are you skrewed???
since everything lines up except one dowl u have a few options:

1. a custom made scatter shield with offset dowls $500 plus

2. take the dowl out line up the block to the transmission then drill a new hole near the old dowl and put a new dowl there $10 (drill bit and dowl)

3.take the dowl out line up the block to the transmission then drill a new hole near the old dowl and drive a shoulder bolt in $10 (drill bit and bolt)

yeah i found that out the hard way. T he cranks are also different due to this.

Whats different about the cranks?

If I remember what my engine builder said, the 05-06 cranks had more bolts on the front. This made it a better selection for supercharged applications where more torque resistance is put on the crank pulley.

Can anyone confirm this?

I will be putting in an 06 RC engine in my 05QC. Other than what was mentioned above what other kind of surprises may I run into?
Where did you get the '06 RC engine?:dontknow:

that is all wrong i have aR/C and when i installed headers i notice motor was offcenter ,,,toward passanger side also ,,in fact after i got right side header on it is less than a half to 3/4 inch close to the upper swing arm bushing,
i even scratched my header on the bottom side of header trying to get it in place ,,,good thing it is were you cant even see it hate to mess up motor bling bling:elefant:

There is only one bolt on the crank pully, later models had a larger bolt.

Blown motors need to have the crank snout cut for key ways to key the hub to the crank snout. I have double keyed mine on the red truck crank.

This does away with roll pinning the crank like Paxton does it. Keying or double keying the snout and hub is the way to go on a crank driven blown motor.
