I will be doing a rebuild soon, but thought I would post on here and be sure no one here might have an engine built and now needs to sell. I also need a set of ported heads, anyone have anything for sale? Thanks

I think you'll find that George (Black Viper) has a set of heads, just don't remember if they were ported or not !!!:dontknow:

Robert be careful with the ported heads and the Paxton, several have been built and the heads would outflow the capabilities of the blower, would not build enough boost.

If you get ported heads you need heads done specifically for FI....heads ported for NA engines may actually cost you power...I would just use the OEM heads...though I do have Roe ported heads...but I installed with the blower so I have no idea if they really helped..

For a mild to moderate f.i. application with o.e.m. heads-

A LITTLE bowl work, back-cut the valves, install decent springs if needed and call it good. Upgrade the valve guides if you like.

Those changes will improve flow without dropping boost.

I wouldn't even bother paying to have the chambers polished. No gains anyway...

And yes, I have a set for sale 30,000 miles and untouched, complete, with rocker gear. $500 + shipping.
And, as posted, I guess SRTBrad has some for sale too...

Ronnie

I believe SRTBRAD has some. He's been in a tight shape for a while and it would really help him out if you buy them. also has powdercoated intake avaible.. As others have mentioned I would recommend non ported heads and the stock exhaust manifolds for the paxton kit

OK now I got the no-port heads for F.I. thing, I understand it completely, and will use stock heads. Now you mentioned stock manifolds?????? Dude there is no way headers dont help. These motors as all motors are giant air pumps used to propel mass. Heads used in variable ways F.I. or not, they are on the receiving end and matter. In this case these viper engines want pressure with an excellent flow pattern. On exhaust...............Common, this is the exit side of the airpump, and the less back pressure you can create helps......Period. I know there are testamonials with more back pressure helping on a mostly stock application so I will go with that end of the arguement, but a 700-1000hp engine neads headers IMO.

Yes I know where you are coming from. 700 hp is about the max on the paxton. Longtube headers or even some shortys are not worth the 10-15hp they have added for the expense(1500-2k$$$) that money is better spent else where like the crappy fuel delivery or intercooler improvements. The stock exhaust manifolds flow pretty well. Dont take my word for it though. Call DC perf and they will tell you themselves.

P..s. the fastest SRT 10 ran 10.7 @129 thru stock exhaust manifolds.

PM stinker, he'll get a motor built for ya.
we have actually three to build now, Eddies is first with oliver rods, wisecos, billet mains, heads redone, custom cam an so forth , built for a paxton, the heads have larger springs, and new valves but no porting.

then another which will be a large build, stroker, striker heads the works

and if possible I may build one for a replacement to keep, with K1 rods, pistons, and choice of cam an such.

or at least thats the plan......

I was unaware they flowed so well, but I still cant quite think headers dont help. My first truck I modded back a couple of years ago was an 06 Quad Cab. I dyno'd it stock and it did 396rwhp with the only mod being my custom crappy flowmaster catback. Then I installed the $2000 american racing headers, The rwhp went stright to 445 RWHP. (50HP Gain)Then I added a K&N air kit & saw over 460 at the wheels. That quad ran pretty good. Hey off-topic, Go to you tube and search "power tour burnout" or add SRT10 to the search and you will see me doing some massive burnouts in that truck & one video of me drag racing a Harley. Anyway, Yea the dude went 129mph through stock manifolds, but I bet my left nut he would have went faster with long tubes. The headers were worth a solid 50HP on my truck.

Unless someone else listed their heads for sale before my post I have the following available:

Stock heads from an 06 RC with 30K miles on them. It came off of Flchubs engine that was stock. You can have them for $500 plus shipping. Paypal FerrariTruck the $500 plus shipping and they are yours.
