Microsoft 7

i read its not worth the upgrade yet if u have xp. if you have vista then its recommended to upgrade
 
They should give 7 free to anyone that purchased vista. I have never had so many problems.
 
they do if you bought your computer in the last 3-4 months. my dad is getting a free copy of it. if anyone wants it i can see how much it is at my school bc i get sick discounts on software stuff
 
I just ran the Microsoft computer compatability test, I run Vista in Mine, and there are some hardware reconfig issues and re set up problems. It looks like about 4hrs or so of work:dontknow: Question is is it worth it? I have My Vista actually running like a charm now, ( allthough it has been work in progress :D )

Let me know if anyone takes the leap of faith, I think Im going to hold of for a while. Kinda like the Swine flu shot:D

yeah vista has to be one of the worst systems i have ever run. but i have tried the windows 7 release candidate and do love it. plan on upgrading the 3 vista machines i have in my house to it :)
 
I heard from the news it can take up 21hr to install because you have remove your old OS first, not worth it unless you have vista although xp is almost a decade old....

I'm going to watch it for awhile. See how it does... It sounds good though so far.
 
i started with dos before ms bought it lol so i am well familiar with it. as far as the 21 hours took me less than an hour to get my wife's laptop cleared out and clean loaded with windows 7 rc. i am planning on buying full version for hers just cause hers will expire next year so and she loves it. so do i for that matter so probably be upgrading vista to it next since i run 64bit and xp 64bit sucked lol.

I think most of us who had pcs back in the day started with Dos before ms bought them.. work in on the Tandy 1000 or whatnot..
 
Yeah. My first pc was running windows 3.1. It was a blazing fast 486dx. I took a course at my local colege in computer understanding. AAAH...just loved the bootup disks and dos.
 
Just installed it and currently getting it set up. I had my hardrive fail on Tues. I just ordered a new drive and the full oem copy from newegg. I was really surprised when it arrived today. So for I am loving it . Very fast. Installed in less than 30 minutes. I would have probably waited but given the good reviews. and since my old drive was a total wash i though why not.
