curious how much for the trk?

Looking between $33k - $35k
Jump in fellas, but I don't think it is a bad deal considering the mileage and mods.... :burnout:

i think it would be a shame if the '09's or even '10's didn't have 6spd's & the 6.4l........:(

bikertat, you've got a beautiful truck - good luck on the sale !!!:)

before i post this, i do realize i dont have a huge appreciation for the older automobile sect.......but IMO the challenger may be the ugliest car ive ever seen......i dont understand the appeal at all, it looks like a round tank on wheels.

The rights to the first one sold last night said it did have an autostick but it also say it had a 6.1 hemi in to.

Yes Craig Jackson bought it for $400k. Car on the block was the concept not the manufactured one. They said 10k will be built and 9k have already sold. srt/8 with 6.1 auto tranny. They also mentioned that the 09's might come with a new 6.3 engine.

BJ made several errors when talking about the Challenger...one of which is the 6.3 Hemi..it is actually a 6.4 (392 CI) which is currently offered as a crate engine....hopefully it will be in the 09 SRT8 but right now it is only a rumor....:bebored:

They also had a Cuda Concept car. Rumor also has a convertible in 2010. The internet never lies though.

$40k will get ya a decent used Viper, and a 6 speed manual to boot..... :dontknow: :D

Are you sure your looking at a Challanger?:dontknow:  Where do you get the round part from?

Sorry Stinker, I will have a gentlemen's bet with you. '09 Challenger will see more horsepower for the SRT8 and a 6sp standard.

Dodge has increased the horsepower of the '09 5.7 to 380. I can't see them keeping the 6.1 at 425...

Internet or not, there has been some very reliable people that haven't wrong in the past...

Either way, all good Bro!

Unfortunately Craig Jackson wasted 400k. The car is not going to be much in a performance stand point. The GTO was brought out in exactly the same fashion trying to get by the EPA stuff the first year and look what they ended up with. Trying to cannibalize another car line and save money is not a good start for any car especially with the performance you are able to get for 40,000 from other car makers american and foreign.

Details on Dodge Challenger drivetrains
AutoBlog.com

The Ford Mustang has held court in the modern day muscle car segment long enough. At least that's what Chevy and Dodge would like you to believe, as both brands are prepping their answer to the Mustang as we speak. Dodge's offering will of course be the new Challenger, and Allpar.com has dug up some news on the rear-wheel-drive muscle car's productions specs that was previously unknown. Along with detail information on each of the Challenger's drivetrains, including engines, transmissions and axle ratios, Allpar.com reveals two new features that the Challenger will sport when it goes on sale sometime next year as a 2009 model. The first is the same Hill Start Assist technology used on the Dodge Ram, Jeep Commander, Grand Cherokee and Liberty. Like the name suggests, HSA will hold the car in place on a hill, giving the driver a small amount of time to switch pedals and begin applying throttle. Hopefully it will save a few rear bumpers from some expensive bodywork. The second feature is called the Trak Pak, which is reportedly just a marketing term for a specific combination of transmission, shfiter and gearing. Available on R/T and SRT-8 models, the Tremec 6-speed manual is included, as well as a limited slip differential, though the axle ratio appears to vary between the two models on which the Trak Pak is included.

Going over the breakdown of each model's drivetrain, the base 2009 Dodge Charger appears to be a bit of a letdown with its 3.5L V6 and 4-speed automatic. Allpar.com reports that the 4.0L Phoenix V6 will replace the 4.5L eventually, but probably not until the 2011 model year.

Also of note is that Allpar.com claims that the first Challengers will actually be 2008 models produced as early as next March. These will only be SRT-8 models with an automatic, and as we reported earlier, will likely number less than 5,000. It sounds like immediately following this initial run, Dodge will begin producing all three variants of the Challenger as 2009 models. Will the Dodge Challenger have the goods to knock the Mustang off its throne? We're guessing it will make a dent in Mustang sales, as will the new Chevy Camaro, but that the Mustang will remain the segment's sales leader.

In 2010/2011 the rumor is there will be a 6.4L HO Hemi version.
If I'm going to buy one it would be that engine with 3 pedals in black.

You are right about a couple things, the GTO was brought out to get by EPA and they sold 40,000.

GM met the the horsepower and quality levels but missed out on the largest selling point.... Style! Just like the late model Camaro and TA...

Thats why the Mustang has always done well, even though they had less horsepower.

Has Craig Jackson wasted a good sum of money? Who knows, time will tell, but Chrysler has already presold 9000 units with out officially selling one...

I sure hope not, using a Plymouth Cuda model name on a Challenger is just wrong! :(
I'm sure it will have some unique sport model name, would have to be, you'd think.

I just hope they do build it! :)

All styling and no performance doesn't get it done any more. Especially not when the car isn't cheap. By the way the Mustang has finally caught up with the intelligence of its buyers and they are finally realizing that all show and no go isn't a good sales model either. Also these estimates of 2010 and 11 are ridiculous look up cafe standards. The days of mass marketed high performance vehicles are almost done unless they start using watts and amps.

I keep hearing 2010 - 2011, but I thought I read somewhere that all cars as of 2010 are supposed to be 30+mpg.....I know nothing about cars, and not afraid to admit it, but I would think this will be nearly impossible:dontknow:
BTW: I told the dealership I would just wait for the 09's.;) Just in case
