Need HELP!! Whistle whine noise coming from Engine!

I just took my truck for a drive to pick up food and as I was driving I noticed a loud whistle/whine noise coming from the engine bay. Nothing felt different while driving but the noise sounds like a really old car does when starting up their car. I opened the hood and it sounds like its coming from the the engine, not something wrong with the intake or anything else. i dont know what to do!!!!

Mines made that noise recently. It was low on powering steering fluid. Check that first. Could be water on the belt too....

Also could be an oil filter from what I've read in the past.

does it change pitch with the engine speed?

It gets louder at idle.

if it goes away once the engines warm, it may be the serpentine belt........ cheap & easy to replace.

No...Chrysler closed all the good ones...take it to a Ford dealer...they are use to fixng problems....

Take the belt off and start it. See if the noise goes away, if it does then its something driven by the belt. If the noise is still there then take it to the dealership. But like someone else said, check the steering fluid first.

Thanks everyone for the advice and offers for help. I took it in to an auto shop and it turns out that I have a bad front bearing on my alternator and also my radiator pipes are swollen to the point of exploding!! lol $650 for a new alternator, radiator hoses, and install oh joy

really?? how much. They just ordered it so If you have one that I can get Ill call them right now and cancel the order on the alternator
