Need valve body removal help.

Need some help. Have everything disconnected, I think. At this point the valve body should just slide down. But it seems like the shaft that connects the shift linkage bracket, is stuck. I've loosened the clamp bolt, but it still wont come through. Any help?

I beleive there is a C clip on the top of the linkage....I remember it being on the inside side of the trans linkage... was a bit of a pain to put back in...

this is the clip I am talking about ---i can't get the pic for some reason from the shop manual to copy and post --it has full info on removal of the valvebody..

Remove park rod E-clip (2) and separate rod (3)
from manual lever (1).

I figured it out. All the intructions on the internet are for removing the valve body on a diesel. They omly have one clamp bolt, that holds the shift linkage to the shaft of the valve body that come sthrough the transmission. Ours has that clamp, plus another clamp for the TV cable. The diesels dont have this second clamp, because they have a TV motor. I didnt see the second clamp.

Another question. Did you have two springs on the accumulator. In the first step of the instructions, it shows a spring on each end of the accumulator. One that goes into the trans housing and the other sits on the valve body. When mine came out, I only found one spring, the smaller one that goes into the valve body. The larger one that sits on the valve body, I cant find. Now the kit comes with one. Just not sure if the gas version of the 48re has one. Do you remember, when u installed urs?
