I like Royal Purple 5/40 with the Viper filter, but Mobil 1 is used in most of the trucks on this forum.

I never relized it untilo reading this forum but i hear the valve train sewgin machine noise ever since i got the truck. Guy before me said he used Amsoil 10/40. is this good? what is best to quite the noise? I have alwyas loved Mobil one?

Try mobil 1 15w-50 in the hot weather. It helps with the noise some.

Not Just synthetic, but Mobil1 0W40. The 15W50 presents too many issues. From start up flow, to Parasitic losses from too thick of oil.

Wowo great read and def eye opening. I usually never warm up mt 10 in the morning and it has been pretty cold here in Texas as of late. Ill let it warm up from now on and def stick with the mobil.
