Yesterday I decided to drop by the local home audio/theater store (NO NOT BEST BUY!!)... I was looking for a replacement to my only 1.5 year old ailing Yamaha HTR-5990 that seems to have a major heartaches with HDCP protocols... of which on Friday I finally lodged a charge back with Best Buy because both them and Yamaha could not seem to get the issue resolved (as it turns out its a known issue with the HTR series of Yamaha...)
So.. back on the story.. I picked up a new Denon AVR-2308, and Panasonic DMP-BD10A Blu-Ray DVD Player.

All I can say about this player is that is ROCKS!!! it fully upconverts my standard DVDs to 1080p which increases their performance 3 fold, and when I played a native 1080p DVD (The Transporter) I thought I was in the movie!!! wow!!!
I got a really good deal on the player... $549.00, and it came with 5 free Blu-Ray Discs (Transporter, Crash, Pirates of the Carribean 1/2, and Fantastic 4... not a bad deal..
The sound and video quality of the unit is truly awesome....
