I'm a big fan of the color. In the sun it looks like the Hemi Orange Challengers.

Shipping screwed me.. I've got quite a few nasty chips that I'm not sure they won't flake off like crazy..

Tell me what you think about powdercoat flaking off.

Installation will be tomorrow if the consensus is that I can trust the flaking to get NO WORSE.

that needs to be redone

they look good:rock::rock::rock:

You definitely want to at least touch it up and clear it if not totally redone.

They look awesome, sorry to hear and see the shipping issues..........

D@mn guys..

Not really what I wanted to hear. Is there really no way I can safely prevent further damage?

Listen, I know what Justin charges for calipers. I also know he would not accept you getting those calipers brand new from him. With the heat they see, you really can't do much other than high temp paint.

Those look AMAZING!!!!! First I would contact Justin,he is a top notch vendor that for sure will take care of you!! If they were mine and I wanted to put them on tomorrow I would get a duplicolour caliper paint kit with ceramic paint and touch up the spots so they are sealed off and you wont have any peeling issues, the marks look to be in spots that your not going to see any ways,If you dont touch them up to seal them off they will more then likely peel!!,the call is yours and they will look killer installed!!!

I better go check my truck and see if my calipers are still on there hahaha. jk, but for those who are questioning whether the powder will hold, I've done a road rally putting lots of wear on my brakes, regular daily driving, and recently a trip to and from Atlanta from Clarksville. I've also been through the car wash 6+ times...and the calipers still look brand new aside from random brake dust that doesn't come off in the wash. I also asked Justin before I got these since his 10 has the same powder and he said he's had his for like 5-6 years and they still look new.

The reason people powdercoat and not paint is because of how durable powdercoating is. That finish must not have cured properly because that shizz is strong as hell.

Looks great though.

I think they were cooked right. Of course they were a two-color process. Argent silver base coat, orange applied on top of that. But I cant think of any sort of coating you may have, short of a chemical bond, that would withstand the mis-handling these calipers took from UPS.

I was able to find hemi orange engine paint. I used a brush and applied liberally to the affected areas. Once it dried, I felt assured that I would have no problems.

I finished the install and bleeding yesterday, but the truck was too dirty to take pictures.

I do have some interim shots though.

I really like them, great choice of color!

Thanks for the compliments guys!

I'm starting to put together a theme. I usually won't do a single thing until I have my plan completed, but I had to move because of the failure...

Should have a concept soon

oh those were fun I still cant figure out why we had such a hard time bleeding them :dontknow:

Well..

We didn't bench fill the calipers like we should have. Plus we put the rear calipers on the wrong sides.. That put the bleeder screws, therefore vent ports, at the bottom of the rear calipers vice the top. We were never gonna get all of the air out thatta way!

BTW, if you're in the Nashville area and need some good know-how and help with a project, I'd highly recommend contacting Zach. He's a great asset to have around when you're having to turn wrenches and figure things out.

And he's a cheap little ***** when it comes to labor rate but he give happy ending hahahaha

Just be sure NOT to get brake fluid on the touched-up areas. It will eat the paint.

I painted a set of Brembos with "caliper paint," and the brake fluid ruined my stellar paint job.

I LOVE the look of those calipers. I may need a set. :)
