12.XX at 112.XX... that makes sense (looks at his own signature)
The guy that did my custom true dual exhaust had the idea to block the grill. He builds race cars for a living and said I could gain some mph by blocking the grill. My body man and I came up with idea to make the cover removable. I didn't notice much of a difference in temp, but I let the truck cool down to below 140 before each run.Great runs Trainman! The Lexan is an interesting idea. How did covering the grill change the engine temperature at the end of each run?
Nice and congrats. So what is the full weight of your truck in track trim. WHat kind of RWHP are you making?
THose fender you have now any lighter than the stock ones?
sick video..
Hey Trainman watching your video I think there are a couple things you can do that might help ya out.
After scientifically watching mythbusters lol.. they say that tail gate in reduces drag over tail gate out...
So on that note maybe put in a piece of plexy glass to replicate the tail gate this might help with some drag near the big end.
2nd the glove box and such on the right side of the truck are like 2 screws thats another 5 lbs..
Front one was 26.5 lbs and has been gone for years.:burnout:I don't know if you do this yet, but you could remove both sway bars before you run at the track.
that has to be at least 40LBS.
or at least the front one.
geeze gettin 0 respect from trainman wont even acknowledge my post..

The weight in race trim with 1/4 tank of fuel and without me is 4270. At DCPerformance it made 541 rwhp and 572 ftlbs on their Dynapack dyno. It reads a little higher in that you are not turning the back wheels, the dyno is mounted directly to the axles. The fiberglass fenders save 7 lbs per side and the carbon fiber hood saves 14 lbs. When I return it to street trim I add back 145 lbs for interior, 180 lbs for doors, 80 lbs for front wheels, 50 lbs for rear wheels, 60 lbs for the tailgate and 120 lbs for the bedcover.
Wow very impressive that alot of weight removed...Congrats again
Yep, about 635 lbs and it only takes a little over 1 hour to put everything back. The doors take 12 minutes but it's a two person job, the stock doors are heavy! Subwoofer is 2 screws, package tray is 3 screws and the seats are 8 bolts and 2 plugs. The wiper blades just snap on and wheels take 15-20 minutes. I do the interior , wheels and tires by myself.
Right there with Roy(Prof)....14.0's.....no really I ran 12.64 at full 5000 lb weight back in 2006 at the Bakersfield GTG. But that was before the ported intake, BBK throttle body, true dual equal length x-pipe exhaust with twin Borla race mufflers and SCT race tune. Once you get to the mid 12.0's every tenth and hundreth gets harder to come by, trust me.If you added the weight back on, what would your times be?
