New Personnal Bests...Famoso Results 2-18-2012

if you cut your sixty every thing gets better.....i know there was a gain hp wise with the throttle body....but i dont think it was enough over your bbk to increase et or mph that much

Do you mean by porting I could gain another 50hp over the 100 gained by adding the Gen IV heads, for a total of 150rwhp? I've talked to DC Performance and Dan said I could gain 40 by porting the heads and another 17 by porting the intake, so sounds real good. I will talk with Chris at DC to custom design a cam for the weight of the truck. I still need to find a little help with the sponsership:D

You can get far more than 50hp out of the extra port work..

so ya get the heads/intake package and just bolt em on stock your looking at 100 hp.

get a full work up on these heads and intake with cam etc.. you can easily add another 100hp to the package,, if your only gettin 50 someone is doing something wrong..

I was comparing Nov.5 vs Feb.18 at the same strip, same lane, identical DA , same temp and I stated that I felt the cheater slick (and Bogarts) helped with the 60' and that the throttle body was the help with the top end speed 115.98 vs 117.21. But I like your analysis, Thanks, it's very interesting.

Did you have the grill blocker on Nov. 5th?

Had a great day at the first test and tune of the season. First time out with JTSVenom's new Throttle Body. Second time on the M&H cheater slicks. I knew the air was going to be good, so was hoping for good results. Previous best at Famoso was last Nov.5 , best et 11.818, best speed 116.94, still running the BBK throttle body. Previous best et was 11.736 at Phoenix on Jan.21. Here are my six runs in order:

Run 1: 9am, 54 degrees, DA 249', took it easy 3800 rpm launch, 16.5 psi.
60' 1.757, 1/8th mile 7.620 @ 94.73 mph, 1/4 mile 11.851 @ 116.76 mph.

Run 2: 10am, 59 degrees, DA 606', 4000 rpm, 16.5 psi. Slight bog.
60' 1.596 (new best), 1/8th mile 7.444 @ 92.08 (new best ET 1/8th), 1/4 mile 11.669 @ 117.21 mph (new best ET!!!):rock::rock:

Run 3: 12:30pm, 67 degrees, DA 1214', 4200 rpm, 16.5 psi. No bog, didn't feel spin.
60' 1.668, 1/8th mile 7.527 @ 94.49 mph, 1/4 mile 11.742 @ 117.55 mph.

Run 4: 2 pm, 67 degrees, DA1248', 4200 rpm, 16 psi, again no spin.
60' 1.694, 1/8th mile 7.543 @ 94.75 mph, 1/4 mile 11.758 @ 117.50 mph.

Run 5: 3 pm, 65 degrees, DA 1121', 4000 rpm, 16 psi.
60' 1.689, 1/8th mile 7.490 @ 94.88 mph (new best 1/8th speed), 11.692 @ 118.01 mph (new best speed!!!):rock::rock::burnout:

Run 6: 4:45 pm, 61 degrees, DA 883', 4500 rpm,16 psi.
60' 1.640, 1/8th mile 7.521 @ 94.45 mph, 1/4 mile 11.745 @ 117.29 mph.

Wow 11.669 was better than I expected, Thanks Tony at JTSVenom for a great product. I have to say the everyday driving is a lot smoother with the JTSVenom TB, no fast idle issues what so ever. Truck seems calmer. Big thanks to SRTBrad for a long day.....over four hours of video shot.

I just checked the Nov. 5 results and the DA was 602' , temp was 57 degrees on the 11.818 @ 115.98 run, so comparing the record run yesterday ( 11.669 @ 117.21) is a real test for the JTSVenom TB in that the DA was 606' and the temp 59 degrees, nearly identical conditions. Wow. I couldn't have had a better comparison for testing results. Amazing. Thanks again Tony.

Your welcome jerry

Did I just read that right? You can get 200 more RWHP on a N/A V10 with H/C?

Congrats Trainman! And congratulations to Tony too. It is a lot of work to bring a new product to the market and it's great to see something new for our trucks that delivers as promised.

I don't know about 200, but we can get a BUNCH. We can gain 50+ ft-lbs, from 2500RPM on up, with just an intake swap.

Ken has a mild H/C build that is 150+ RWHP over a typical RC. A couple other guys do too, I just can't remember who they are. Maybe some of the guys who have GG worked heads can chime in with their results.

Thats impressive as hell.

Now consider that Trainman is running 11.60's without ever opening up the engine and you can see the potential with the 10's is there. We just don't have many that have put all the steps together to run quicker ET's, but we will soon.

I was figuring that the MoPar package which promises 150 hp increase with their GenIV heads and intake ( headers are required) would add the 100 rwhp, just as you state. Dan at DC said gains of another 40 hp for head porting and another 17 hp for intake porting (total of 57 hp) is reasonable for no cam change. So I would think a custom designed cam could easily put the entire package at 200+ hp for the NA engine package. I'm at 509 rwhp now, so I think a gain of 200 rwhp (which would put me at 709 rwhp) would probably be the maximum I could hope for, at some point there are diminishing returns and you reach limits for NA applications. But it's gonna be fun trying........I can't imagine the ride with my light weight, but I'll bet a few Lightnings will be surprised at my NA SRT-10.:drool:

Are the new slicks the same height as your old DR set up Jerry?

NO, there is a half inch difference according to M&H. The 390-40-17 Drag radial is advertised at 29.5" tall, and the cheater slick is advertised at 30" tall.
