New pipes; unbelievable popping!!!

I never saw a x pipe on Billy Boats. You might want to open the box and check Carl.

Just called B&B and they said no they don't have X-Pipes.
Flow is definitely important, I'll see how well these guys make 'em flow.

Looks like a nice system though and I'm not after max hp, just deep sound.

weld the stock resonator back in!

It's straight through and it kills the pop!

with the my muff delete and no resonator it was horrible. I gave the muff delete to a friend and told him to keep his resonator and it sounds great. This places a x-pipe where the muffler was............

get another resonator.............

A "X" or "H" pipe will take most ,if not all,of the popping out.I absolutely hate the popping.

I deleted my cats and left the stock muffler on ( 04's had no resonators so nothing to remove there) and put in an "H" pipe (just a simple cross-over pipe). It is plenty loud without being too loud and has no popping.

I think that I know what you are looking for in sound and to get it you will need the MagnaFlow catback SYSTEM along with a full cat delete.I had this set-up, but it was a little too loud for me.Absolutely wicked sound and loud as hell when really getting on it,but not too loud for MOST people when cruising.Had a nice deep tone also. ( the MagnaFlow muffler in this system has an internal X )

Hope this helps a bit.

Sorry I associate the popping with: untuned exhausts, out of tune vehicle, leaks, rice rockets, & unequal length headers. However, give a nice bass, rolling rumble....

B&B doesent use a x pipe it uses the muffler to do that, you need to run a high flow cat and the muffler. that will stop pretty much all of the poping. you will hear some but on agressive down shifts only.

Better results

I took your advice and had the sop check for leaks. I went in the bay and looked at their work on the lift. There welds are some of the best ive seen zero leaks there. But i did have 2 pinholes at the clamps....wish they cut them out but ill get the taken care of today. After the patch up alot of the little crackles are gone. I painted a 2 foot length of my cat back flat back and drove it hard! As you said i got the white spots so today they are going to put the H pipe there.

If you have not seen the flowmaster outlaw i strongly encourage going to your local shop and checking it out. Its simplicity is sickening but the results are incredible. Its a wide open muffler with slightly larger interior diameter than the inlet pipe. It is lined with 5 rings around the circumberence that are chamfered in the shape of a J facing the outlet. The sound pressure/pulses ride the outer wall, are compressed slightly and released over and over, attenuating high frequecies out of the exhaust note leaving nearly max db through. It does hardly nothing for volume and just changes the pitch. I am trying them today... they said if im not happy he will change them out free so we will see.

mine usually pops and gurgles on decel .when driving "normally". when i drive it hard it "growls" when i decel. (downshift from say 3,000rpms):dontknow:

Not sure about the flowmaster Outlaw, but some trucks here have lost HP with flowmasters on them. As far as popping.....I love my tone. Magnaflow CB, catless mids...........deep rumble idle, nasty tone throughout all gears. Over 3k rpms......freaking Nascar loud.....well ok not that loud, but f#cking wake the neighbors loud for sure!!

The flowmaster that are loosing power are the chambered with baffles. The outlaw is a bullet. The inside diameter is larger than the inlet outlet pipes so i would assume they would flow better than a dynomax bullet or the magnaflows. They claim the rings help to scavenge. Im not sure what the power gains/loss would be, but i will say i lost alot of bottom end. Hopefully the h pipe will help get some of that back.

hahahaha no no i have dual nozzle spray :) that counts for 2 balls :=) lol

Sounds more like a woman with a strap-on...:dontknow:

As of friday afternoon, the magnapacks are gone. They installed an h pipe. One that was formed and not just a pipe welded between 2 pipe with a hole cut out with a heliarc. The flowmaster outlaws are unfukinbelievable! The sound is louder more powerfull, the truck pulls harder, the top end opened up, and the h pipe kept me some grunt down low. Ive had 4 different cat backs in the past 2 weeks. With the rear cats and resonator removed, the flowmaster outlaw is louder, deeper, more powerful seat of the pants improvement over magnaflow magnapacks, magnaflow race, and the dynomax bullets. The idle is absolutly vicious. I cannot wait to get my catless mids made. I curently have zero drone, and a third gear decel from 5500, crackles and pops for 500 rpm and then mellows smooth and clean without resonating at all. Could not be happier!

ALL but one flowmaster is garbage. The outlaw is incredible!
