Wal*Mart announced that, during Q3-2008, it will begin offering customers a new discount item ---- Wal*Mart's own brand of wine.
The world's largest retailer has Teamed up with Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the spirits at an affordable price, in the $2-$5/bottle range.

Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to put a bottle of Wal*Mart brand into their shopping carts, but "there clearly is a substantial market for inexpensive wine", said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at the University of Arkansas - Fayetteville. "But the right name is important".

Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for the Wal*Mart wine brand.
The top 10 survey results are listed below - in order of popularity:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. White Trashfindel
8. Big Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir
3. I Can't Believe it's not Vinegar
2. Grape Expectations
1. Nasti Spumante

The beauty of Walmart wine is that it can be served with either white meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel).

Wonderful list Steve.

We love wine, and agree that those names would be appropriate for a wine from the big white box store.

Corona is good too! But I am a girly man...I like it with fruit in it...but it has to be special fruit...a Key Lime...not just a lime, but a Key lime...try it you will like it...and I have been known to recall the old days by putting a chunk of ice in a big glass of beer too!

Sometimes you have to drink "out of the box" to enjoy.
