its when you will take a small porting grinder, and match the intake ports to the head intake ports, that way you have a straight shot, and no interruptions in the air/fuel flow.
you can do it many different ways, one is the take a piece of paper, lay it on the heads over the intake and using a pencil or lead, rub over the paper until you have an outline of the intke runners on the heads,, then cut the runner section out, lay it over the intake ports, and using a scrib or even paint, mark the area that needs to be removed,
many people do it many difffernt ways , but the end result is the same.
