Since I just started my second sixpack... ;)

Anyone have the RPM results on these tires with 4.10's , and 4.56's ?

I should be trapping around 112 and dont want to be shifting into 5th.

My HP is the same at 6200 as it is at 5800 so can stay in it a little longer if necessary.

5750 rpms with the 4.56s.....5186rpms with the 4.10s...

6172 rpms with those bad ass 4.88s....

Thanks ;)

Should be good, figure these and a set of Caltrac's and drag racing should be fun again ;)

thanks everyone for the words of encouragement! fastjack....I will be testing these hopefully on wednesday as long as the PM thunder showers hold off....if not then Friday looks good too. They feel super soft and sticky! I can't believe how well they ride down the highway! Can't wait to do some huge burnouts in the stage area to break these in!:burnout:

with a 26" tire and my current mods I was trapping at 5400rpm.....these are 2" taller and I hope they are just tall enough to handle a 150 shot....should be right in there I'd think. Like Nowwhat said...free R&D!!!

I have extra steel rims that the base 1500 uses and put those on to see....fit no problem...they're a 17x7 inch rim though...not wide enough, but 17's do fit.
I can get an American Eagle rim 17x10 for $90.00 bucks a piece new...so thats the route I'll be going along with the 325/45/17 M&H like above...looks like a good set-up.

Hey bucke77, I had the same stock steel wheel set up. I was running some MTET streets which go on a 17...they worked...cut a 1.86 60' on them but they are just soo narrow and no belt of any kind in them so they get a little washy going through 3rd and 4th. Plus I know they'll be too short w/ NOS....I'd definately run out of gear in 4th. Good luck bro! Nice grille by the way!:D

i wouldn't feel comfortable with those rims at 100 plus mph...I'll spend a little more and get the 10" rim.. let us know how those 325's work?

This is a exact combo im looking for as well, since my frist mod is lowering , cals and dicthing the 22s for some hook up.

I pm'ed trainman never got a response, a few weeks back, Im undecided between 17 or 16 inch , i dont care about grinding down the caliper i spend a week doing it :) . I just like to see some real time comparission between 16 and 17 inch rims with slicks.

Yeah I can't say I was all that comfortable at speed on the old setup...it was semi ok as long as psi was kept at 22lbs....but at 18 the thing just walked all over the lane down the track....these new ones feel like they are money! John from M&H said they have a kevlar belt in them. They feel super stable even cornering.

Hey Rice Eater, can you post some side views with those slicks on, are you just going for the back, or the front to ?

If you don't care about grindinng the calipers....and you can find some 16" wheels that'll fit in your budget....I'd say go with the 16's....you'll get way more tire side wall w/ 16's which equals more BITE!!!! Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.

Caltracs my friend....20 of us have them....they really work...

MY problem with a shorter tire and rim combo....is ground clearance....

with the X-metal drop, Caltracks and OEM rims and rubber...here is where I am at.

Knock off a few for the new Bogart rims and Nitto rubber, and I am even closer to the ground... so a 16 or 17" rim would be even tighter....depending on sidewall / tire height. I believe I have 26" would not work for me. Plus for blown applications...I would not want to get the rear end gearing too far off...or I will be rowing into added gears. Just food for thought.
Currently I am roughly at 2 3/4" clearance with the DR/Rims on her. They are off...so I do not have an accurate reading.... but it's close.
