This picture is of the top and bottom spider gears after running at the track with slicks. Some thing for all of you DIY'ers out there. To remove the rear axles you will need to remove wheels, calipers, rotors, and expand the e-brake to be able to slide the axle in far enough to be able to remove the c-claps holding the axles in place. To be totally honest with you guys I really don't know how I was able to drive the truck home in this condition.

I will update with some more pics.

I am amazed that you did not screw up your ring & pinion with all the scraps floating around.

Sorry I missed ya call bro, but looks like ya gotter:rock:

and gotter good:D

Took about an hour and a few phone calls to figure out how to get the fcuknig c-claps out, but we were finally able to get the boogers out. Thanks for your help bro. Tomorrow we pull the driveshaft out and pull the pumpkin. The side spiders are pretty toasted as well, but not as bad. I'll have some pics of those tomorrow.

The ring and pinion don't seem to have any damage to them, but then again they are still on the truck. I won't know until we get them out tomorrow for sure.

How many people have had this happen? Is this what I can expect running slicks and a blower? I should probably add a rear end to the list huh:dontknow: :D

Dude you have Ken's (NBT) old truck. Your spider gears are already cryoed  . Nothing to worry about just go have some fun :burnout:

DAMN Alex!!!:argh: :argh:

So I am assuming something like this wouldn't be likely to happen with street tires?:dontknow:

Cryoing process should harden the gears enough to hold approximately 800-900 hp. You probably toast your clutch and flywheel before you hurt the gears.

Nope this would diffinently not happen with street tires.

If I remember correctly, I think Ken said he had the flywheel done as well:dontknow: I could be mistaken... can the flywheel be cryoed?

It sure can. You can cryo just about anything that is made of metal. I'm going to send Ken some brake rotor to have cryoed before I install them on the truck.
