What do you think, I did have to cut it down some, and drill new holes, but it fits and shifts perfectly. Damn, this was the comfort I was looking for ever since I got my truck. What do you think?

I didn't even think about it until late but the grips are the "Wrong way" around for me. I had a feel of my Cuda's pistol grip with my left hand and it just feels ugly lol. I asked if they were able to make some grips that are reversed. With the "3 screw" piece on the left side of the handle (as you look at it from behind) with the "thumb rest" part on the right.
Hopefully they do or else I won't buy one. Didn't see the carbon fiber ones until today, somehow I skipped page 2 of this thread, they sure do look awesome. Can someone confirm that all I need is a B-Body non console (bench seat style) Hurst Pistol grip shifter, correct? Then I can just change the handles over to what I like. This should spin your minds some RHD Rams.

amoparman said:The grips aren't the only problem with the gunslinger handle. The bar is bent up towards the top just under the grip area. If you can get a handle bent the right way, I can custom carve you a set of handles for the shifter. I carved a set for my gunslinger handle because I have large hands and the stock grips felt too small. I'll post pics of them when I find them.

Yes I am still running the pistol grip shifter. I love it, I cannot think of anything I would rather use on my truck. Plus since it is an orginal Mopar handle I never have to worry about it breaking because it is so think.RAMviperIFFIC said:Hello Bill,
Are you still around? Do you still have this pistol grip installed? I just bought a 1970-1974 B Body Hurst Reproduction Pistol Grip Shifter from Summit. As I compare it to your pictures, it seems that mine does not have as much "forward cant" as your original one has. I have a modified B&M Shift Kit (put more preload in the centering springs and removed the thick plastic gasket & used a liquid gasket.) I have tried a t-handle, the newer Hurst billet aluminum pistol grip, but they do not look or feel right. I am stoked to get my truck back so I can use my new shifter. Are you still happy with it? Any tips are appreciated.
thank you,
Jon

"The carbon fiber grips are made in a steel tooling and it would be quite expensive to make another tooling to make the grips reversed. In a few months, i will have some wood grips that will be reversed to fit the right hand drive. To make the shifter stick reversed is not a problem. Thanks Jason"
I replied with how much as I don't mind paying extra for set up costs and for the custom handle I want.
amoparman said:If you look at the normal shifter handle, it bends at an angle near the top. That would need to be reversed for right hand drive. It's cool that they can do that, and that they will have the wooden grips to go with it. I wish you luck!

NZ440R/T said:I'm not sure what you mean still, you mean the circle in the photo I made below? (green circle). As far as I can see, it will still be the same LHD or RHD, won't make any difference, it's just a curved piece on the same angle which ever side you sit.
The part I want to change is the curved "thumb" rest (yellow circle), I need that to be on the opposite side of the handle. As for Gunslinger, I don't think he's making 100% new shifters, just RHD handle grips.
Cheers,
Carl
amoparman said:Ah, I see the problem. The part I am talking about is the actual bar stock piece below the handle. See the pictures below. Just below the actual grip area, the bar angles off a bit. If you are sitting in the truck, the bar angles down to the right to meet the shifter base. I added a pic from the front and rear of the handle. You can see the bend at the bottom of each picture. That is the bend I am talking about. I hope this helps!![]()

NZ440R/T said:Cool, thanks mate.I see what you mean now. So, if I do get one I'd need new RHD grips and to "bend" the shifter handle itself, sounds a little scary lol.
