Hi guys,

This about my 4th thread in 2 days, sorry about bothering all you poor chaps but, if you don't ask you'll never know. I will send an email to Billy Boat but thought I'd also ask here and see what you think. Since my car is RIGHT HAND DRIVE (incase someone misses) I think this may cause trouble with the newly relocated steering column shaft. I'm not used to Viper engines or SRT/10s but the steering column (is on YOUR passenger side) seems awfully close.

I have Billy Boat long tube headers, purchased them ages ago but I failed to even think about the possibility of the RHD alterations. From the photos, what do you guys think? No chance? A chance? Slim? Will I squeeze headers in there? I've also attached a photo of the (your) drivers side. Plenty of room now. If it doesn't, what can be done? Cut and have a custom pipe(s) to go around it?

Thanks,
Carl

You're not bothering anybody... this is what the forum is for.

I don't know man.:dontknow: If the BB are anything like bassannis I don't think there's a chance. Somebody with more knowledge will chime in soon

Thanks guys. ;) I'm just searching header photos on the forum now, haven't found much but I'm sure I'll stumble across some. If I run the hi-flow (or catless mids) and a catback, will it defeat the purpose if I don't use headers? Like run the factory manifold? Or is that fine. Bloody hell, why the f@#k did I purchase them before I got the truck LMAO........

Here a picture of my Mofo headers which are basically Bellanger Long Tube headers:

I know this pic is showing the headers on the side that you don't want to see so I'll take a few pics with a tape measure and post them up tomorrow.

Thank you Brad, that would be awesome! Love the engine bay mate, nicely done. :)

Carl if they do fit make sure you wrap that shaft. My Bassani headers are close to the steering shaft but the headers came with alum wrap for the shaft.

Brad = The Man. ;) Thanks mate, will go out and check soon to see where I'm at. :)

Headers have a tough time on a left hand drive truck...the Viper engine is off-set to the passenger side and there is even less room on that side...

Does anyone know of someone else that has a left drive vehicle with headers?

or touch base with B&B & see if they have a right hand header for your truck. might swap with ya????

From what I can see it looks like it will clear - just. There seems to be around 3-1/4" of clearance, maybe a tad more. Towards the bottom near my steering shaft it gets tight but the headers tuck in at that stage so it looks like it's going to have to be a trial and error game.

I'm doubting they will as the demand will be minimal to zero.

if what roy is saying about the engine offset to the passenger side, then i think you're stuck with the stock manifolds...... my install shop had a heck of a time with that side for clearance & you want plenty of room for the engine to move....:) you could ask kalani if he has headers, he's a rt hander too.........

your other problem is going to be your mids.... sounds like you have the mids to fit to the LT B&B headers you've got, those won't hook up to the stock manifolds......:(
you'll either have to have your mids modified or purchase the ones that mate up to the stock manifolds (longer in length).:(

Look in the hood scoop. You will notice that the middle of the scoop is not in the middle of the engine. I bet you will have a very tough time getting past the steering mechanism...I hope I am wrong.

Thanks guys, I hope your wrong too

Looking at the Roe Racing website for the Billy Boat Hi-flow cat and catless midpipes they state this: "Mid-pipes bolt directly up to the B&B long tube headers OR the factory OEM manifold location". Seems as though if I try to get the headers fitted and fail, I can just carry on and put the mids & catback on without hassle. Fingers crossed. :)

You have to have mids that fit up to stock manifolds. Your mids are for long tube headers. You won't be able to hook up you mid pipes. You should sell your B&B headers and mid pipes and just do a cat delete and use a muffler shop to make you 3" mids.
