I was in a 2008 Ram last week and it had a power sliding rear window. Which would be handy for QC owners since we can't reach it from the front. I looked at the window and it looks like it is the same size as ours. Has anyone tried to install a power sliding rear window? Would the rear windows from 08's fit in 05's so we could just do a swap and run some wires?

Thanks for the links guys. I think this might be my next mod. I just have to find someone to put it in.

I really miss the one in my Ford.... The rear window was about 1/2 mile behind me in that truck. LOL! Used it all the time. :) ...... I don't think I've ever even opened the one in the SRT. :(

I open mine every once in a while, but usually end up with a couple of cracked ribs and dislocated shoulder in the process!!

:D:D:D

This would be a very cool mod!!!

group buy!!!!!

I have a solid window.....the two options not on my truck are the ones I really want the most....heated seats and sliding rear window.

Yes you can put a power slider in our trucks, BUT the real trick is getting your stock back glass out, without damaging the paint around it.
Only trust installers that have done a lot of 02 and up Dodge Ram back glasses, because it is very easy to do damage to the back of the cab.

Bill.

My '06 QC came with a factory power sliding rear window. Would this not work on the RC or on the non-power QC's. It seems like it could be ordered from Dodge.

That's what I was wondering. Power sliding rear windows were not an option on the 04/05's.

The dealer would send your truck down the street to there preferred auto glass shop. Then the glass shop would put in an after market window unit (more than likely from CRL).
This route could cost $1000. or more, depending on dealer markup.
It would be less expensive to go to the glass shop yourself.
That way you could wait at the shop (2-3hrs), and know for sure that your rig doesn't go for a joy ride.

P.S. I'm an ex-auto glass installer.;):vroam::driver:...

I work the the company that manufactures these windows. I did the R&D on the design. If enough here is interested I can do a group buy. What do you think?

I'm in!

My question is do they look as good as the originals?
I have seen some aftermarket power sliders that have a ugly alluminum frame around them.
I really like the look of the all glass 3 piece slider..
any pics of the exact model that fits our trucks?
thanks joe

Not sure about the 04/05's but Dodge does offer one (for the 06/07's), part number 82210002. So far the best price, I could find was $431.25 plus shipping. Not sure if it will fit the 04/05's and I am not sure if the OEM rear window on the 04/05 is integral to the body structure like the 06. I would check with Dodge on this one.
