PRAYERS AND THOUGHTS...MR. JOHN T. HARGRAVES "SUPERCAR 1 OF 1'

Just spoke to Shane Cannon at Mv Performance, he and his girlfriend have been helping John a lot and she had gone by his house yesterday morning to check on him and take him some breakfast. Apparently John did not have any close relatives left and Shane and Jennifer were his closest friends around. He was OK when she was there at about 8:30 am, talking and very aware of things around him. She tried to call him at 11:00 am to check on him and got no response so she left work to go to his house to check on him and found him passed away in his chair. Because of the lack of relatives there will probably not be a formal funeral and John had told Shane earlier that he wanted to be cremated and his ashes scattered at St. Marys, Ga. where he was born and raised.
Guys, I really do not know what we can do but I told Shane if he needed help with anything that many of us are nearby and will do whatever he needs. Shane said he will post up if there are any arrangements or a formal funeral.
He was very fortunate to have friends like Shane and Jennifer.

As soon as any information is known I will post....we at Mv Performance looked at John as family (Tim and Lisa Matherly and Myself)...John spent many hours and days here at the shop just hanging out or messing with his car or truck...Lisa visited him numerous times while he was in the hospital and spent many hours on the phone with him checking on him and making sure all was well...he will be greatly missed...once again as soon as any information is known...I will post...thank you

Just a thought, but how about we get together whatever we can and donate it to the American Stroke Association? I would think that would be better than some flowers, and I think John would agree.

Guys I can honestly say...just in knowing how John was a donation to cause would be greatly appreciated vs. flowers...

Although I did not know John, it is very sad to hear about his passing. My prayers go to those that knew him and will miss him. RIP John and God bless those for remembering.

Let's make sure that his cremation costs and such are covered first.

More sucky news. I met him at the Macon GTG and we only exchanged a few words and a handshake. I did enjoy his political sense of humor. As many have already stated, he will be missed. R.I.P John.

Sir,
Know that you were never alone. Rest in peace and God speed...

I have probably had the pleasure of meeting more of our members than anyone else, but I am very sad to say I never had the pleasure of meeting John.:(

Bill.

I had the great honor of meeting John at a GTG at my house. He had just been cleared by the doc. and showed up a little late, but he showed. He had many great stories, and his political views were right on target. I only wish that I would have had more than a few hours with him.

RIP, Supercar!

Mike and Bethany

I have learned that John's ex-wife is the administrator over his body...she is driving from Texas to handle the arrangements...he will be cremated per his request but as far as any services or ceremonies I am not sure of...she stated she may have a service for close friends and family on Tuesday but I'm still not sure on any plans...as soon as I learn anything different I will let you know

please read other thread on this subject also asap!!

I am at a loss for words on this one. :( :( Jack told me about it this AM and I almost fell in the floor. I always enjoyed conversing with John. He's always been full of amusing stories, and I always looked forward to hearing more!

RIP my friend, and we'll see you on the other side!! I think the donation in his honor is an awesome idea. I'm in!
