PROBLEM WITH GIBSON SHORTIES!

removed stock manifolds,test fitted the headers and the the 3 bolt flange doesn't line up (holes) with the mids...WTF system is all welded anybody else have this problem?

you can always cut the flange spin it to line up mark it and re weld it

I used the JMB catless mids and they are loose to spin. Not sure is the stock cats spin. i could check when i get home.

i have B&B mids and had every connection welded,but i'm thinking the flange should still line up being i just replaced the oem manifolds

The stock adapter that bolts the exhaust to the manifold moves, ie spins. If you had that welded to the exhaust system that is your problem.

Yes SlvrSnake is correct. If you wouldnt of welded the flanges you wouldnt have the issue. That type of flange is designed to move and welding it does nothing except make it hard to line up if you ever take it off and now in your situation impossible.....

passenger side lined up, by the way the B&B mids are all one piece (welded) i'm thinking gibson didn't align the flange correctly when it was in the jig,it should bolt right up.

I have the Gibson Shorties also and they definitely changed the tone on mine as well. Gave it more high pitch in my opinion.

Yes one man can do them . Get a small visegrip pliers ! Attach the pliers to the nut FIRST!!! Before you try to loosen the bolt from underneath. There is a tin cover the factory installed over the nut to prevent it from spinning during initial installation. If you try to loosen the bolt without holding the nut , the nut cover will spread and will make the nut very difficult to grab afterwards!!!! Good luck.

not to bad....remove wheels and wheel liners and go in that way. use new oem gaskets!
