ProblemS with the truck

Sounds minor sarge........let us know after ya git everythin dryed off, and oil changed, and reset tune, and check for shorts...........ETC,ETC...........have a good day bro................ :D

Thank you guys so much for the help. I'm going to go try what has been suggested.

Kenny, that vid is pretty much dead on what I'm seeing now.

I hope everything dried out over night.

I hope you get her back on the road soon LB. Flat out sucks to hear this.

any time i washed my viper i would wrap plastic warp around the VEC and about 5" of wire leading up to it...then i would wrap a towel around it.

Everytime I take my Ford truck to the car wash it comes out running lousy and misfiring popping back. It does this for several hours.

Tried to nupload video, but it didn't work. Check all the VEC connections... looks OK. Loaded old tune, and she's still smoking.

Oil smells burnt, but that's nothing new. Oil viscosity feels normal.

I gotta run back to work, but if anybody's got any ideas hit me up on my cell. (254) 383-0699 Brad

Call Sean Roe!

Been there done that. Our VEC computers are not fond of water at all specially with a vented hood. I went as far as taking the VEC apart and drying it out. I would also change the oil since it's a fresh build. If you run it like that any length of time, you will wash out the rings and bearings. Careful!

From my experience WHITE smoke is no good.....coolant is getting into the chambers and burnt off.....usually from a blown/warp head or head gasket problem....the slightest little warp can allow coolant to get in and boom you get white smoke...smell the smoke is it sorta sweet smelling or more like oil?? had the problem over and over with my diesel....you're not the only one hating this truck!

Brad sorry to hear of the troubles... Not sure the VEC box would get wet if it's still in the same location...that truck has been pretty wet before and I never had the problem. As Mark said...the VEC can loose a tune, and re-loading the card can help, however after the prior symptoms with oil loss, ect...there might be more than one problem with it. Plus a bunch of fouled out sensors... I got a vid around here of the truck on a "lost tune"... let me see if I can find it..... got it... I shut it off...trailored it to ROE...they cleaned out/serviced the vec...it dropped a pc board in it...re-assembled, and loaded the tune...poof...took about 50 miles to burn off all the bs in the exhaust. Never had another problem with it. This was shortly after the blower install.
Sounds like you need a trip to the builder/tuner.

Now i might stay STOCK:afraid: hope everything works out ok

Just saw that video......if you got smoke like that puffing out you very well could be getting coolant into the heads.....is it a consistent smoke or does it come and go? valves could be clicking loud b.c you're getting coolant into there....i hope that's not the case and you just got a lil water on VEC

It smells like gas, and it's consistent... just like that vid.

truck is catless right?

first time i saw that was on a 97 mustang. One of the injectors was just flowing gas as fast as it could causing an unbelievble amount of smoke rich enough to choke. I was suprised it wasnt black smoke.

I got the vids working...

You can see, it doesn't start smoking bad until it warms up a bit.

This really sucks because I'm out here in the middle of the freaking desert. There's no shops close. I think it'll be getting towed to a place called A&C Performance in Murrietta CA. :( We'll see what happens...

that's good news for you! Maybe a plug is fowled up and could be the cause for unburned gas??? just a guess, im no expert

It's got 2 high flows

Just saw your vid.....what is the fluid under the exhaust? when my head gasket warped it did the same thing..leaked fluid and went from light-no smoke into enough smoke to make it's own weather system.....the gauge looks like water affected it for the time being
