Progress on the Turbo Plumbing.

amazing craftsmaship! almost as if I'd done it myself! hah!!

Barry the ducting for the turbos is all in aluminum, to keep the weight down. The tubes from the front valance, fog light holes has no pressure, and just supplies air to the turbos. The air form the turbos to the intercooler and the intercooler to the air doors will be under pressure.
This tubing will be coated.

The headers are stainless, and will be titanium heat barrier coated. The turbo housings will also be titanium heat barrier coated.

thanx Jack ! as i have qualified welders for alu, stainless and titanium that would be no problem for me to build but i think i lack alot of equipment besides the plumbing...:D

Are there air filters ? :confused: :dontknow:

Barry there will be no air filters at the track, which will be almost all the time.

For the very limited street time I will just remove the inlet tubes that go through the fog light openings up to the turbos, and add some K & N filters.

Jack , isn't it dangerous with inlet in front and that low to the track ? How much dirt does it take to unbalance the turboblades ??? Are dust particles not inducing knock ??? and as pressure relief valves are needed , is the tiny pressure drop over a filter of any importance ??

PS I love those K&N's as you can see on my Willys...:D
( don't mistake the horn for a turbo ...:D :D )

That thing is insane! what diameter is most of your intake piping? what type of turbo is that (T-88?), and how much boost are you going to be pushing on race gas?

The tubing going into the air doors is 4" that is graduated from 3" out of the intercooler. The Turbos are Super T 76s ( engineering dept at Turbonetics says this will do the job ). We will be running around 26LBS of boost.

There will not be very much dirt introduced as it will only be running for a few seconds at a time.

Dust particles do not induce knock.....

The pressure drop over, through and across a filtering media is relative to its surface area and the media used as well as the volume of air required.

This combination has so much excess HP on the street a small loss will not matter.

That does not happen beacuse of the safety factors.
A pair of cars cannot leave the starting line before the track has cleared.
 
so whats the max rpm your going to rev it to? oh, and what type of clutch and tranny are you going to use? what about the exhaust, im guessing its just a straight 4" pipe after the turbo's, nothing else.
ps: i heard that you were a top fuel dragster mechanic or somthing:dontknow:
