Excellent point. My dad has (I think) 2001 Jeep Cherokee. If I remember right he was overheating too. From what he told me that I can remember is the cooling system has to be pressurized or problems can occur.

This is true... the 4.0 is prone to air bubbles in the system.

Thanx for all the input fellas, Im gonna tear into it this weekend and see what I can find because I had to have missed something.

Pull the coolant temp sensor out (right on top of the thermo housing if its a 4.0). pour water into the radiator until the coolant/water comes out of that hole. That'll make sure you have no air in the system.
