I agree..depends on the weather condidions. I use 15w-50 in summer / dyno tuning and track, and 5w-30w in winter; 10w-40 in average temps

Im in New York. But my truck never sees rain let alone that damn white sh!t.

I do realize that the 05 manual states 0w40 and 04 manuals states 10w30.

If some of you guys are running 15w50, then i would think that 10w40 is ok. Im curious if others are thinking the same thing.

I need to get any possible HP increases, even if they are minor, done soon. Track opens in 3 weeks. I must run a .7. My last MPH already tells me it will. But every little bit helps.

I checked just one plug. Gap was pointed at the ground. So you know that they're all F'd up. Doing that indexing tonight.

Are you going to do a pre/post indexing dyno run ?

I ran a 13.2 stock..ok just a flash.

Then I ran 12.91 with the addition of headers. Same 60ft

Now I have a full BB exhaust 3" cats. I will change all fluids with RP and index the plugs.

If I cant get a 12.7 im going to shoot myself....:(
 
As Roe recommended I went with Shell Rotella 15-40!!

With Mobil 1 I was adding a quart every change, I will let you know if it is the same with the rotella!!

No, was referring putting the truck on a dyno and seeing how much if any hp is gained by indexing the plugs.

No probobly not. There was someone on the forum that did dyno before and after. I just saw it. Do a search. He gained 9hp at the rear wheels. Like a said earlier, I just pulled one plug to see the indexing. Damn thing was pointed at the ground.

I picked up my new plugs today. I guess they didnt understand that a Viper V10 has 10 cylinders. I only got eight plugs. Son of a b!tch.:mad:

I have indexed plugs on bikes. Both bikes(VMX12K & ZZR1200) that I did this too were unusually fast. Is there any correlation? Honestly, no clue. But I have dyno runs and times slips to prove they really were unusually fast.

So, what the hell, Ill try it on this motor.:D
