My Viper tech had an extra underdrive pulley and gave it to me. I'm still waiting for my belt which should be in by middle of next week. I'm gonna try and install it before the dyno and track day next saturday and we'll see if there's any improvement. Will keep all posted! Anybody else use one? Have experience with one on these motors?

Speaking of that, I am looking for a 93.5 inch 7 rib pulley. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I believe it is 2375 in mms.

Splain just WTF all this underdrive pulley means to us idiots that dont have a clue!!!

It's a roughly 1 +/- pound lighter than the oem pully. meaning less rotating weight. I heard it's not a huge difference but you can feel the difference.

I have no experience with an underdrive pulley on our vipers.

On my 5.7L Hemi the Motoblue underdrive pulley was a contributor to my spinning the toner ring off the crankshaft.

On my wife's '98 LS1 Trans Am the SLP underdrive pulley resulted in a problem with the knock sensors above 5600 rpms.

Prior to the failures I saw no benefit on either vehicle.

My wife now has an '06 C6. It doesn't and won't have an underdrive pulley.

I expect I'll stay stock on my SRT10 also until or unless there are significant gains and at least a year of trouble-free use by a bunch or owners.

Choose wisely. Just posting my experience.

A guy sells them for Vipers over on the VCA. Claims 5hp give or take, just like other cars. Probably work with the trucks too.

Thing is, I think it costs a bit over $250! Freakin' Viper Tax...:dontknow:

I have had under-drive pulleys on my 99 Ram since it was new (except when I had the blower on it) and have had no problems.Slight power increase and slight gain in mpg.I usually get 15-17 around "town" and 17-19 highway. That's on a 360 Magnum.Only cost about $65 for both, crank and alternator.

Curious to see your results as I've never found underdrive pulley's to give me anything but a headache....keep us posted!!

The motoblue pully was not notorious for it's problems. There is another one out know for the hemi that works verywell. Aslo keep in mind that theone on your hemi was a harmonic balanced pully. The one for our trucks is not. here is a link:
