water temp isn't really all that high for a hot texas day, i've got a 170tstat and mine will still run 200 and sometimes a little over 200 esp in traffic

water temp is normal for texas guys! lol
 
I noticed the temp as well cause mine never gets that high although that is still within spec and an Auto. It really could have leaned out the exhaust some. I think that's what contributes to the lean backfires after the throttle is lifted. I hear it on almost every sutomized exhaust 10. Some even throw fire! I thought it was unburned fuel ( rich) but you can lean backfire through the exhaust as well I guess.:dontknow: I know I didn't have that popping exhaust unitil I opened her up, but I am still muffled!

these trucks are tuned from the factory to dump fuel when you lift off the throttle...at least thats what i was told caused the back fires

Cool vid. It would be a cool video to film the truck at coming to the camera at night floored and then let off. The fire at out the side pipes would sick. But then again I like fire.

if it dumps fuel when you let off couldn't you just drill a hole and screw in a spark plug and wire it to be hot:dontknow:
