While I do think the bible is full of flaws, and things that I just plain think were fabrications from people with ulterior motives...it is certainly a great work. You don't have to believe every detail, some of it is meant to be literal some is figurative.

I am not a Christian but I doubt that many would disagree that it has many lessons well worth considering.

Not everything needs to be flawless to be worthwhile.

I am a christian, I believe with all my faith, not because of others but because I made the journey for myself. One thing I do know is faith was givin to us By our Creator. religion was created by man to try and understand Faith.
But just Like everything if it falls into the wrong hands people use it to take control over others. If you cut out all the man made hysteria and added words of the Lord by mankind. Yeshua's basic message is there is more to our lives than just this world, and what you do while your here will determine on what happens after this life.Just as science tells us there are more dimensions to reality so did My Lord.JMO

I think people are trying to hold Einstein up as a scientist that had all the answers for religion and science which is seriously wrong. Einstein had views of what "god" is and let's please let him have his views.... He was just a person that was brilliant in what he did for science. A god is something that should be very personal to us all.

Those that want god to be a god that judges us for the things we do in this life should be able to do that. Those people that view god as an intelligence that set our universe in motion and gave it laws should be able to have that view too.

God is something very personal, and those that find "god" in any form should considered themselves blessed. Read the bible if you want, read string theory and enjoy the mathematical theory that "god" put in motion. It's all the same.

...... EXAMPLES...... CRUSADES, ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, SPANISH INQUISITION, DESTRUCTION OF THE Aztec's.... WARS causing the confiscation of BOOKS and WRITINGS..... King Edward's Censorship of the BIBLE..... If you TRULY engulf yourself into these things, you will come up with a common therory...... ALL RELIGIONS ARE EQUAL.... They all have the same theme.... The answer to that question lies within the pages of GOD's Word.There are different types of prayers and different ways to pray them.
God is only obligated to answer the prayer of faith : "What things soever ye desire,WHEN you pray,believe that ye receive them,and ye shall, have them"

This is quite an over-simplified explanation,but all I have the energy to type tonight. Easiest way to say it is : You have to believe you HAVE RECEIVED what you pray for BEFORE you ever see it,or you will never see it .That is FAITH. (Hebrews 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped,the evidence of things not yet seen.

Faith comes from understanding,and understanding comes from GOD's Word.

3x9 = 27 (2 +7 = 9)
9x9 + 81 (8=1 + 9)
2x9= 18 (1 +8= 9)

This is a fascinating conversation. And I thought I could stay the hell out of it....... but I just can't.... I have no intention of stepping on anyone's toes or correcting anyone's doctrine. But, forgive me if I do:

Kris, nobody can make God conform to what THEY want to happen in life by adhering to some set of supposed Biblical principles.... and contextualizing Mark 11:24 with Hebrews 11:1 is not a mystical magic formula for "MY WILL BE DONE". It just doesn't work like that.... and resurrecting all the ghosts of A.W. Tozer, John G. Lake, Kenyon and Kenneth Hagin Sr can NOT make it so....

Things in Life .... even hard, brutal and devastating things... happen for a reason.... just like God created evil itself for a reason...... It could be to enable us to become more kind and caring persons..... maybe it's because we are too egotistical and need to work on developing greater humility....it's hard to say.... God works individually (like this) in each facet of our characters until we finally grow up and get over ourselves.

Life is hard...... It was meant to be that way..... If it was easy we wouldn't learn or change a thing in or about our messed up selves..... Humans have tremendous potential. But we will never realize our true potential without being tried and tested on a regular basis..... and there's no way out of it that I've found.... even after searching desperately for almost 60 years....

There's no way to "hot wire" your prayers. God isn't our personal short order cook... and some prayers are not answered with a yes. There is only "Thy will be done" ...and that (my friend) is the facts (according to Django) about prayer......

I truly feel that is only wishful thinking that we will be will our Loved ones after we die. Jesus says He will prepare a place for us if we believe. Am I just showing my ignorance or what?
