I am looking for a little testimonial on the Roe Supercharger.

Who has the Roe Supercharger? What kind of boost are you guys running? What kind of engine internal mods have you done? What are the problems you have encountered with the Roe (If Any)? What modifications exist for the intercooler issue at high boost? What is the max boost you have achieved with the Roe?

The list of questions go on but It's a good start.

i got one, got the mopar comp coupe cam, hardened push rods, x-metal T/B and valve covers, msd wires. no cats stock bottom end, stock tranny, water/meth injection. boost runs from 5.5 to 8.5 with sean's new cards he sent me. havent had a lick of trouble other than trying to get my shift cable adjusted but i havent spent a lot of time on it lately. got it close but not exactly right. will have to replace tranny and torque converter in the near future maybe in the spring before the gtg. mine does have the heat exchanger.

I have Roe unit with around 6 PSI on stock engine. Have not had any problems. If you want to run higher boost then you must upgrade internals:)

I have the ROE on a 05 QC.
I am running 5 - 6 psi boost as seen on the boost gauge.
I had trouble with a wire that broke on the VEC extension cable. This led to an extra 4 hours on the install till the broken wire was located. It caused a rough idle.
I also had a failed govenor pressure solenoid, Probably not SC related. During the solenoid repair, the debris in the tranny pan made me decide to upgrade the tranny.

I love my install, and am eagerly watching 700hpodyssey and bones build. I intend to follow with my own internal build and higher boost.

Brad, talk to NBT.

He drove his to Ohio, beat on it, and drove it home. Home = Middle FL.

I'm running on stock internals and just about 10 lbs of boost. After the last tune that Sean sent me everything seems to be OK. I will dyno the truck soon and post the numbers.

My boost gets to ~8.3 LBs as evidenced by 2 different boost gauges. I have read other posts where Roe owners get 8+LBs of boost even though Roe advertises 5.6LBS as the max (with the stock pulley). I have no internal mods though plan on going with forged pistons when I install PP heads later this year.

No intercooler (none available for the Roe yet) but I do have the meth injection which helps cool the charge.

I am very happy with the Roe and would buy it again....support by Sean Roe has been outstanding.

I have had no trouble with the Roe since installing other than an idle issue. A loose wire was the culpruit causing that.

i have so far 1 problem : asked a BIG sticker to scare my friends.... they don't have one ...:p :D :D :D :D

You will not need a big sticker to advertise the Roe.

The sound will be enough.

I have over 13 months with the Roe in my truck. Close to 12,000 miles on it.

Not a single problem. I have experience some rough running when the VEC III box got wet.

I would buy another one today.

I expect to get unlimited miles from the SC.

If I blow the engine, I will rebuild with a Roe plus forged pistons and rods, ported and polished heads, and probably add NOS just for fun.

I plan on pushing the Roe blower envelope, I will keep you posted. Smaller blower pulley and a Roe intercooler next. :D

What kind of Roe intercoolers exist? Roe had said that they don't offer one and you would have to have one custom made.

I nixed the integrated cooler in the manifold program on the Viper, even though we did build and test one.
Water / Methanol does a much better a job "if" you need it due to running higher boost or are having preignition issues.
Basically, anything less than 8 psi, intercooling is a waste and can actually be counterproductive. The intercooler adds a 3 psi +/- restriction, which you must overcome by spinning the SC harder. The air just doesn't get that hot compressing it 5-8 psi.
Don't get confused and have the idea that a charge cooler is needed or will get you more power in this low boost (anything under 8 psi is low) application (our standard kit).
Remember also, we're using a SC that's 37% larger than the car kit so we can spin it slower. That keeps things cooler too.
If you're running it fast enough to make 12 psi boost, a bypass cooler like we made for McCandless will keep temps down.[/SIZE]
The blower runs the coolest at full throttle and the hottest under decell (throttle closed, high RPM and full bypass with the air recirculating through the blower).
To bad these engines don't have better pistons and rods. A smaller SC pulley is the best horsepower per dollar you can get ($100 pulley = 80 HP).

Regards,
Sean

If Sean made one for McCandless, he can make one for me.:D

I hope he can make one for you. I would like to see what kind of results you get. So when are you planning on talking Roe into this?

Also I just noticed your sig line:

12 lbs boost, JE gas ported pistons, Oliver rods, Mopar perf cam, titanium push rods, T & D roller rockers, 65 lb injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Roe tmts blower, Roe Throttle Body, Roe IAT mod., water/meth injection, custom billet lower pulley, Indy Cylinder Head ported heads, Centerforce clutch with Viper slave and master, long tube equal length headers with high flow cats, QTP cut outs, Caltracs, Stinker's rear end, JMB catch can, Gen X shifter

I was on the phone today with JE Pistons. Did you have your pistons custom made? As for the rods I spoke with Oliver Rods and Carrilo Rods today as well. The Carillos were $3600 for custom built rods to withstand 2000 HP and Torque. The Olivers were $1426 for the billet rods. The Oliver salesman did not have all the tech data but said they use these types of rods on their 7000 HP cars. Why did you go with the Olivers instead of the Carrilo's? From what the Carrilo salesman said the Olivers were good for 1400 HP Torque but was guessing at that figure. If the salesman is right and you go full out 19lbs boost you run the risk of bending your rods.

I was also on the phone with Clevite bearings. I was told to go with a moly bearing or "H" bearing from Clevite. Problem is Clevite does not make this bearing for our engines. The reason I'm saying this is because under 19lbs of boost the stock bearings have a chance of spinning according to the salesman and recommended the moly bearings. Does anyone know of a manufacturer for moly bearings on our trucks?

Also did you pick out your cam for the SC application or was the superchager put on after the cam installation? In other words what kind of formula did you use to pick out the cam for your supercharger?

7000 miles of trouble free fun, I could not ask for more on a street machine. Love the wild torque and on-demand power. Get on the waiting list and wait no more!!!

10cc JE dish pistons custom made, recommmended by motor builder because he wanted to add lateral gasports.
Oliver rods, M6250STUL 10-VIPER, were list 1866.73, dealer $1493.39. I understood the Olivers to be able to easily handle 1,000 hp. Maybe I was misinformed. :dontknow:
360 TRIARMOR BEARINGS, CB481HK, recommended by motor builder.
The cam was purchased before I decided to push the envelope on the blower. I may change out the cam if someone knowlegable convinces me that there is a better grind for the SC application. My research so far has indicated that the Mopar Perf grind is good for the SC application.

ask Deibs...... he's the only one i can recall that's had engine issues & the roe recently......

Yeah i've blown my engine with the Roe, spun rod bearing.. i think you know what that is :(

I'm still not sure what else is wrong with the truck.. i don't have the cash on hand to do anything with it right now, just bought a house this month... which wouldn't be so bad but i've been doing most of the work myself so any extra money is going into the house to get it finished so i can sell asap. I'll be doing a tear down towards the end of winter then i can give you some info on how she ended up blowing...
