Roe Supercharger Advise

Yeah i've blown my engine with the Roe, spun rod bearing.. i think you know what that is :(

I'm still not sure what else is wrong with the truck.. i don't have the cash on hand to do anything with it right now, just bought a house this month... which wouldn't be so bad but i've been doing most of the work myself so any extra money is going into the house to get it finished so i can sell asap. I'll be doing a tear down towards the end of winter then i can give you some info on how she ended up blowing...

What were you doing when the bearing tanked? Where you on it or just cruising? Did it just start clanking?

I've been told by Larry Macedo some of the later engines have a problem with tearing a certain bearing (don't remember which one), he was rebuilding a NA motor with the same problem last week.

7000 miles of trouble free fun, I could not ask for more on a street machine. Love the wild torque and on-demand power. Get on the waiting list and wait no more!!!

Well I am with Roy on this one, as we were the early ones with the ROE. Got about 7K on mine.
Only problems I have had is with the extension harness for the VEC, and the VEC.
VEC box was fixed, and eliminated the harness...and no problems.
The truck has been pressed "pretty" hard...with launches in the 5 grand range, and she is holding up fine. Max boost I believe is around 8psi...(hard to peek at the gauge when your there @ WOT).
Funny I got the 500 miles on the Clutch...been in the garage since last month.:dontknow: Home improvements are obligating all my time at the moment.
I have been very happy with the SC, and if I had to do it all over again...would stuff another Twinscew on it. Having it on a built motor would be sweet....maybe someday.:dontknow:

I havn't drivin mine as hard as NBT, but I agree with him. I just finished driving mine with the new tune card from Roe installed. Got to romp on here a few times.

It runs much smoother now, Air/Fuel is much more consistant and seems to be in the sweet spot more.

If you get a Roe blower you will not be dissapointed!!

I was on it most of that weekend... drove 1.5 hrs to a race track and was doing quite a few passes, then drove a bunch more heading out to go camping most of those were lead footed miles :). She then blew out on me when i was coming back from camping. I've never been nice to this engine especially after the Roe.. heh... When it happened the truck missed really bad, and then started clanking. I ended up getting a video of it, it just doesn't sound pretty. :( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ffud0V8UVI&mode=user&search=

The bearing is on my drivers side second one in, so #2 i think? I've heard that too from a few Viper owners that the rod bearings are very weak and don't like any heavy load.....

Tell me about it. I guess we get to rebuild it stronger now.
