Its been about a week since I finaly installed my a/f guage and I have been logging my A/f numbers. Sean's tune is Perfectly Stoich in at almost all rpms I did notice a quick dip to 13.5 At about 4400 but back to good. And his tuning was done based on a dyno run stock. This will be the fisrt dyno run for me since I Roe'd it need A/f numbers for my 10lb tune wish me luck:marchmellow: :burnout:

I sure wish I could send mine to him for dyno tuning. :dontknow: Maybe that'll be added to my to-do list.

Just get it dynoed and send him the numbers. I just got lucky when he was out here. But go to a good dyno operator and get the numbers A/F curves and send them to sean. Thats what he did for me, dynoed here and took the numbers with him then emailed me my tunes for the roe.:D But by all means if you can give him your truck to tune in person, I know I would. Plus you travel so you can give him your baby for a week or two. I went though withdrawls during my build and winter:p  :D

Yeah, I was thinking of sending her to him before I leave out the country and pick her up when I get back. Makes for a fun adventure and I'll have a chance to meet him in person.:D

Yeah, when I do my SCT, I'll probably make the 5 hour drive up to him.

Good Choice

No one does it better than Sean Roe!

But he can do it remotely for you...

Call him.

Ok, If I may ask without starting a war... Sean Roe or DC Performance? Or is it a coin toss between them?

I am thinking about tuning my stock ride. Who should I go with?

I'd go with Sean.

Between the two for choices, I have only worked with Chris Jensen at DC Performance and in my opinion, he is a VERY knowledgable tuner.

I haven't worked with Sean Roe.

We are splitting hairs...

Just have to think that there is no way to go wrong with Chris or Sean...

I have not worked with Chris, but I have never heard a bad word about either one.

Ain't it great that we have such wonderful resources?

Tuning is so very, very important for our machines, there are bad tuners out there...be very careful who you choose. There is no problem with Chris or Sean...they are at the very top by all measures.

Thanks Guys,

Well from what I have read here and other places I had not heard a bad word about either. I guess that means that is a coin toss.

Just go with who is closer to you. I'm chosing Sean :dontknow: because Roe is where I purchased my SCT tuner from. If I had dealings with Chris at DC I would have gone there for the tune. I can understand the need to be splitting hairs since it's your money you're spending, but IMO I don't think you coud go wrong with either..

I stick with sean since the viper is all he has dealt with and deals in, but I know the man can be up to his neck in shit and still take the time to help you with a problem. Plus with me I have a Roe so who better then to tune it then the man who designed it. As for DC i have not personally used them, but I have not ever heard anything bad and there work is impecable also.

Sean is awesome, as DevilDawg said, he can be up to his neck in emails, phone calls and work and he still has time to deal with you. Unlike some companies, he never lets his personal life interfere with his professional, good guy to boot. I have his SCT and a load of other bits and will buy his SC as well. From the sounds of it, you can't go wrong with either. ;)

What I don't quite get with the SCT set up is, can I have my guy tune the truck locally here in New Zealand on a dyno for a day or so then somehow either load that tune(s) on to the SCT? or send them to Sean to load for me?? That's where (on paper) it sounds like the VEC3 wins out as you can tune on the spot and load them to your own cards, etc? Am I thinking straight??

If your guy has the sct software he can write the tunes for you or all sean needs is your a/f curves and mod list. but know he emails you a tune and you load it into the the sct again if you have the software and know how to use it (I have it but its like chineese to me:confused: ) I was wanting the vec for the same reasoning but in the end I am no tuner a mechanic yes but tuner no.
Plus out here it is all chevy and ford so I just go where they know what makes this thing tick. But your thinking is right. Plus I have been told by sean that the sct it a better tuner but you have to know the software. So it is really up to you and your knowledge or the knowledge of the people tuning it. I like the Idea of the vec but I now am just saving up for the mack daddy of them all AEM piggy back computer http://www.titanmotorsports.com/viper-aem-pnp.html this is my next mod:marchmellow: next winter hopefully.

Carl...have Sean do a base tune for the SCT...then dyno the car and send the data to Sean. He will alter the base tune in accordance with the dyno data.

That is the way most of the tunes are done these days. We miss the "art" in the process because the final stage of a tune is the test ride and the tuner with a great ear can usually hear more than the dyno can detect. That is the "extremely fine tuning" that comes with a tuner in residence...but the electronic stuff is 98% dead on.

When Sean did the test ride with me last fall, I could not hear a thing...he heard at least three sounds that he corrected on the spot by reprogramming...while in the cab of the truck (on his lap top).

Roy, So when I get my truck dynoed at the texas meet in July I can use that to send to Sean when I buy the SCT and tunes?

You need to make sure you get the AFR, if he doesnt hook it up, then its no use.
