James Garner passed away yesterday. The Rockford Files was my favorite show growing up during the '70s.

I pulled a reverse 180 in my high school parking lot in 1980, got busted by the principle....he wanted to know where I learned to drive like that, (he was very pissed off)....I said "Haven't you seen The Rockford Files?"

My Mom always wondered why her '74 Dart was so hard on tires!

he was also a race car driver. mostly off road stuff. if memory serves he drove a Bajaed out Olds Cutlass

R.I.P. Rockfish. Yeah his trademark reverse 180 was copied by a lot of people. It was one of the first thing I learned to do with my 71 Challenger.

R I P .....and i can say that even in Germany we used the wording "Rockford-Wende" if you wanted to describe a 180 !

I was pre-adolescent in the mid-70's. But I do remember shows like Kojack and Rockford Files... By then I could only dream of driving a muscle car. Makes me wish I were born 12 years earlier. I'd get to buy and drive a REAL car. But I digress.. R.I.P. Jim. I never herd of Mr. Garner involved in any nonsense or scandals..
