.................................................I Will Remember!

All gave some and some gave all... Never Forget
I just got home from the firehouse that morning, and was out cutting the grass before it got too hot out...was about half way through the front yard when I got the call from the fellas at the Firehouse....never did finish the yard that day......I just put everything away.
God Bless our military, for protecting our freedom...without reserve.
A moment of silence and self reflection, for our brothers and sisters lost on this tragic day in history.

That's when I vowed that I would continue my my education in Search and Rescue...to better my knowledge and abilities, so that I may be more effective when future incidents happen.
I have made good on my promise to myself and others...and have had the pleasure of meeting some of the greatest people in search and rescue.

I will never forget.. September 11th, 2001, 8:30 am I was in my Philosophy class on 59th street and Columbus Circle, Manhattan. I had just entered onto the 59th street Bridge to go into Queens when news of the 2nd plane and Pentegon was aired. New York and the world changed that day. God bless all those who gave their lives fir hopes that one person would be saved.

Seeing those lights on tv tonight brought it all back to me in an instant. I spent a lot of time in the shadows of those towers.

During the course of about a year, I probably spent 6 months of it at the Marriott right there at the base. I think it was a 41 story building, dwarfed by those majestic towers. Only once did I have a view of the towers, I usually had a view of the Statue of Liberty. Used eat dinner virtually every night at the Tall Ships, also in that building.

Though I once did have dinner at Windows on the World. Words can't express how impressive that was. Used to hit up the Krispy Kreme over on the other side of the plaza, way before they were everywhere you looked.

Saw a country singer playing out in the plaza one day, can't think of her name right now, though it's on the tip of my tongue. I'll get that later, probably hehe.

Used to go down under the plaza to catch the train over to Jersey, I was working at a data center in Exchange Place. Talk about a view of the towers.

I was staying at the hotel one night when all of a sudden there were tons of emergency vehicles, including quite a few hazmats responding to the building that held the customs office, and that was scary, I can't even begin to imagine how it was on that day 7 years ago.

I've only flown into Newark once since then, it was almost surreal, I didn't feel like I was in the right place.

Things will never be the same, not since that day. And that is a sad thing.

Never Forget, Never Forgive.

***** 2 Minutes Silence *****

No one will ever forget this day. The shocking and saddening images are still unbelievable to watch. It angers me so much it's not funny.
It's like a bad horror movie......but, it's not. :( My thoughts and prayers go out to all victims and their families. Cheers to my American friends.

The bravery of those firemen and police that day was has yet to surpased.

GOD BLESS THEM ALL

Seeing those planes hit the towers, I knew right then that my life had changed, and all my plans to retire was going to be put on hold. I won't till it over, or when the military tells me I am too old.
