Hey Guys,

My truck is at "my" restoration shop. They can fabricate anything. I talked to the boss/mate and suggested I "may" go for a custom twin exhaust system. I know from first hand experience that twin pipes usually give a different note than anything else and sound more like a race car, almost two exhaust notes fighting each other. I'm just not sure it it's worth it. It will look cool, 2 x dual tips or just two nice sized oval tips sticking out each side. I would have the rear bottom kit/skirt altered to have the same exhaust "cut out" as the stock trucks.

What do you think? So far I'm going to have the Billy Boat long tube headers installed, it will be close but the shop said they'd get them to work, may require 1 or 3 custom pipes but they will get them on. Catless mids and catback, at present. Obviously this may go out the window with a custom twin pipe system. I did a search - zilch. I'm guessing no one has done this to their trucks?

I'm just worried if I do it, and it ends up ricey or tinny then A) I've wasted a shit load of cash and B) I'll have to waste more returning to a stock/B&B original setup. Thoughts and opinions are welcomed. :)

Cheers,
Carlwalski

Nope, just after the best sound out of my V10 (do it once, do it right). :D Perhaps you are right, wait and see. I feel the BB exhaust is the deepest so may see how I go with that. If it's "that" bad (can't see how) I'll look into a custom system. I'm still interested in hearing thoughts on the twin system though. :)

6pakattack (dennis) did it. seen it before. Will only look good if you mod the rear bumper aswell ($$$$).
I like it.

Yes, as mentioned in my first post the rear skirt will be taken care of, I have OCD and have an eye for the smallest imperfection.....lol Thanks for that, good to know it has been done, I was beginning to think, "Surely!!" So, do you know how it sounds? Deeper, Tinnier? "Weirder"? lol

I'm no sound analist but my guess would be "deeper" cause you have less restriction which would improve the low frequencies:dontknow:

Thanks for the input Floor. ;) I know that when I guy came to pick up some parts in his 4.7L V8 Jeep (I have one too) his sounded waaaaaaaaaaay better. I have a Kolak exhaust, about as good as you can get for the Jeeps, single 3" pipe with Flowmaster mufflers. This guy came to my house, had twin pipes, one out each side of the rear body kit, man o man did it sound different.

My Jeep is a deep droney V8 sound, his is a muscle car sounding V8, real burble. it's like you can hear each 4 cylinders per exhaust singing out to you, it was just real crisp and also a "Tad" deeper, not by much, just a totally different sound......this is what got me thinking. Hopefully 6pakattack chimes in for me and anyone else who is curious................

youv could always PM 6pakattack (dennis), see if he'll upload a video of his exhaust for sound to see if it's what you want......... :dontknow:
I was looking at who was online before, Dennis was reading the thread but no reply lol.
Guess he's not happy with it? lol j/k He knows the thread is here, he'll chime in if he feels like it, if not, all good.

:)

Yup, "Currently Active Users"..... :)

Hmmm, I think you are right though mate, I may stick with the BB, your video was great and I still feel it's about as deep as you can make these V10s sound, without getting involved like a racing team with unlimited budget, which I don't have. Long tubes, catless mids and catback it is. :)

sounded good @ the track too........ ;)

You would be better off going with an exhaust like the BB that is known to sound good Carl...the V10 will not sound like a V-8 no matter what you do....it can sound good...I love the sound of my Magnaflows....just aint gonna have that V-8 sound.

If you were to do this, I would recomend that you make all the pipes from the headers back the same length. This will create a more deaper tone and elimate drone, and that nasty raspy sound.

6pak's exhaust sounds good, not tinny or whiny at all... but I don't know if it is true dual exhaust.

Good luck, and post up a sound bite if you do it!!!

I see a NR running around my area here with dual duals, but I can't get the guy to stop. I want to see where he got his bumper. It's not very loud. He just drove by my house the other day and all I heard was his music not the exhaust.

Do a search for Doneo...His exhaust is exacltly like the Viper...I like that and will do it if I ever win the Lotto....:D

Here is the shop that did the work...
