I am a new member with a 2004 Ram SRT 10 with twin turbos done by Hennessey.I'm having troublewith the truck as when I started it after the winter it hardly ran. Seems like it's running way rich as there's a a significant odor of gas all around the truck.May be a computer issue. In any event, I need to find someone in the NY, NJ, CT area to sort this out. Do any of you know anyone in this area with the expertise to do the job? Thanks.
 
You may want to PM a member named Hilgee, he also has a former Hennessey truck which he had to totally rebuild.
 
Can't help but if you do a search on "Hennessey" you won't like what you read.
Hopefully it's something easily fixable, all the best with it.

I think I met you at the Orchard Beach Car show last Sept? I remember speaking to someone with a Hennessey From WP:confused:

What type of engine contoller you using. You might try Tators in South Salem.

Dave is the new Manager at Hennessey. He is aware of the problems of the past and has stated that he is interested in changing the reputation of the Hennessey operation.

Please let us know how the transaction goes.

While you may be depressed right now, no one has a better opportunity to get things corrected than you, because of the recent attempts by Dave to right the ship at Hennessey. Do a search of his name and see if he has provided a phone number...but act now, and keep this thread updated on what happens.

What Steve said, Chuck Tator is not far from you. Don't know about his expertise on twin turboed beasts though.

With that setup that truck is going to be tempermental as _____. You're probably going to be fiddling all the time with it. Hope someone here can hook you up with a good tuner who can help you stay on top of it.
 
Suggest you contact Nick Mannarino from Modern Performance,West Long Branch,NJ Tel-732-222-3679.
Nick did a great job building a twin turbo for Fredv that is an absolute beast. Good tuner with a lot of experience building and tuning race Vipers and working on our trucks. Rebuilt my Paxton intercooler and built both hp and safety into the tune.
 
Thank you for the numerous replies & welcome messages. I spoke to Chuck Tator . He only does supercharged trucks & is not familiar with turbo applications.
There is no warranty.I spoke to someone from Hennessey (Jason) who told me that they could fix the truck at my expense if I shipped it to them, or provide computer & other parts that probably could remedy the problem at a cost of $2200 but I need someone here to install it & tune the truck afterward. I'm not going to ship the truck to Texas, & would rather have someone diagnose the problem before buying any parts. Thats why I want to find someone around here to geinvolved.

I will not take pictures until the truck is fixed & back in my good graces.Iwill say that when it ran right it was quite impressive for a truck. There was a video of it on a drag strip a few years ago taken by Motor Trend I think.

I'l let you know how events unfold. I'm still looking for someone to do the work.

The smell of fuel I have also. After a full check of the system we came down to the smell just coming thru the braided lines. Not a leak just the oder. Keep in mind if you have the FMU on the back side of your system like I did that just increased the smell because it created such line pressure. As for it running bad, make sure you have a pretty full tank. If it is just coming out of storage you may have drained you battery and the computer lost your "idle." It will take a little while for the truck to re-learn it. All in all the truck will run pig-rich all the time until you get a piggy back system to help control it better. I have a VEC3 and got it tuned by Joe D.

Ugghhh...another Hennescrewed victim, I'd likewise be intrigued to hear Mr. Golder has to say.

And welcome! Get the tuning squared away and hopefully you'll be good to go!
