Had the beast out today. Noticing some odd behavior.

1. Engages into gear okay with the normal grip.
2. If I give it a little too much throttle it feels as if the transmission is slipping. Loss of power but as speed increases it seems to catch up.
3. Downshift from say 4th to 3rd engages but it does not engage the torque to the wheels.
4. Motor seems as if its putting out the power but an almost slipping feeling until the speed catches up to the rpms of the motor.
5. I have heard that I may have glazed the clutch from a few burnouts but I am not sure. The last time I had it out, I did do a little aggressive driving but the clutch was fine when I brought it home.
6. I have 17k on the truck and it is the stock clutch and stock master / slave internals.
7. It is also very hot here today. Would that affect my clutch performance? It started occurring pretty much as soon as I left.

Finally, is the answer to just upgrade to the centerforce or other clutch, get the viper internals and call it a day? Will that solve the problem or could it be an actual transmission issue?

Thanks all...

Viper GTS clutch slave and shim mod... Also heat shield the clutch hydraulics lines too.....

I thought the same thing , was having the same symptoms..A buddy of mine was driving right next to me and told me my rear tires where spinning. Total loss of traction. No squeal. And yes it was hot out, around 101 degrees..:dontknow: Felt like the clutch was slipping, but it appears I was just spinning the tires.

It that were the case, I wouldn't be concerned.. lol:dontknow:

My South Bend Stage 3 clutch set up is still kick ass. Lemme know if your interested....

Put it in 5th gear at 50 mph. Romp on the throttle...you will know immediately if the clutch is slipping...

All of the symptoms are there...

just letting you know I thought my clutch was slipping also, turned out to be no traction on hot pavement.:burnout:

I think its time for the upgrade. makes me feel as it the truck is slow. Well, with what is occurring, it actually is...

If I stomp the throttle @ 50 in 5th, it will bog for sure.

I have been putting this off for far too long. Just want to make sure its not a tranny problem.

Why selling Nelson? You also have the master / slave upgrades?

If it bogs it is probably not the clutch, it should slip if the clutch is slipping!!

You RPMS will come up faster than your MPH

Yes, the rpms would come up fater than the mph if I did that.

I just want to make sure its not more than the clutch, thats all...

Do it up Scott ..... you wont be sorry, might as well get the flywheel to, or have it turned. Foor me it was a $50 difference. So I got a new one ...

Good luck .... Jim

Just stay away from the super light weight Fidanza. It doesn't work as well as the stocker for everyday driving.

Yeah, not doing the fidanza.... Been reading alot about it. Aluminum flywheel for a truck putting down alot of torque and no scatter shield.

I like the one DC advertised a while back but I think it was very expensive. plus I have not heard of anyone that has done it.

I think I will resurface my old one or get a new stock one.

Definately gonna do the master / slave upgrade as well.

Does Roe sell the kit without the flywheel? If so, whats the cost? I know Justin sells it as an upgrade for $470. :dontknow:
