Just have to vent for a minute. Yellowvenom and I took our engines to a local engine builder back in late March/early April. We had a meeting both of us and the builder together to discuss what we were going to do with these engines. On April 21 I gave them a deposit of $4000 to get my pistons and cam coming. Then I just left them alone, because I know how busy they are, until today. I just talked to him and was told that nothing has been ordered because they are waiting to hear from Yellowvenom. What the "F" does Yellowvenoms build have to do with mine? Why didnt someone call me and tell me there was a hold up? I thought my parts I ordered from Tony were going to be the hold up on my build, but obviously not. I was expecting the engine to be done by now, not having now to wait another 4 "f"in weeks just for the pistons.

Bullshit answer they gave you.....

Get yer money back..........

Sounds like BS outfit to me.....

Specially since our season up here is about 8 weeks long. Not that interest on 4k is much but I would rather have it in my account then somebody else.

Good customer service is just as important as quality work, IMO. Find another shop man...

I agree 100%! Is this guys' first name John by any chance? There's no way he'd get another $ from me, our relationship would have ended right there and I would have walked out with my deposit in hand.

F%#k that shit. Nothing worse than a shop with minimal to no professional service. Building good products is only half the story of being a great business. There are too many so called "professional shops" out there today that lack proper communication and no, replying: "Yes. will get back later" does not count. You pay cash, $1 or $100,000, you deserve to be informed on what's going on - period. Takes 1 minute to call or email. It's etiquette and just part and parcel of the "deal". I'd go in to see these guys face to face, screw the phone calls.....go see 'em and get on their case, make a scene if you have to. Not feeling it? Tell them you'll cover costs of what they have done thus far (and make sure you point out it should be F-all) and say you'll be back in later to collect your engine and if it's not too much of a "task" for them to have it ready, you'll go elsewhere to a more professional outfit.

Grrrr.......

.... It will be interesting to see if the guy still even has your $4000.

Exactly,There's a possibility that he took your money to fund other projects.
Something like stealing from Peter to pay Paul!!

I know what u mean but it has to be set up on the front end, Maybe the VTCOA can come up with some simple language and an addendum to an agreement for build? If the shop doesnt want to sign they are not credible!!!:dontknow: :dontknow:

I will see how busy my day is tomorrow, I may go and pay them a visit. Anyone else know any decent engine builders in Alberta?

We have several top notch Viper engine builders on this forum. Ship the engine to them and don't make your build complicated.

The shipping is the killer, customs sucks to deal with and I like the idea that they are 45 minutes from my house. Everything is dealt with and parts are on order as of this morning. There was a slight issue that has now been resolved, I just dont agree with the length of time that it took to resolve it. I know that there engine building skills are better than there picking up the phone and calling the customer skills, so hopefully from here on out theres no more issues.
