Do the factory chrome grills take paint easily?

I don't like the chrome look anymore and don't want to spend $$$ on a new grill.

Just don't want the paint to flake off easily.

Thanks.

Clean, scuff and plasti dip them.I did my son's truck grilles and they look great!

Plasti dip? I've heard of the stuff but never used it. I was thinking of just some black paint. :dontknow:

If you decide to plasti dip don't scuff the chrome first it sticks just fine, plus if you want to peel it of it will come off easy....I would recommend plasti dipping both sides...

Here's mine I did until I get them painted...BTW plasti dip is a spray on (plastic) that can be cleanly peeled off when not wanted...

Also I planed on replacing my chrome ram with a black and inferno viper emblem from Justin or tony....but after I plasti dipped it I thought it looked tits!!....I'm gunna order some flat dark gray and see if I like that better before painting them

if properly prepped the paint will stick just fine...the entire surface must be scuffed up..the fine mesh on the 04-05 may be a lil tougher to do this..I would also use a primer designed for priming aluminum..
