Supercharge The Audio System

Your able to mount a dual magnet sub? I have a set of 10' Orion HCCA subs and wasn't able to mount due to depth limitations. I'm probably going to go with the 10' Kicker L7's, nice tight sub with lots of "Cubic Inches" to spare.

No i'm not able to mount the subs in the prefab under the back seat box due to the height of the speakers. What i'm trying to research is if there is anyone that makes a custom box for the SRT that would fit a 10" high speaker and have enough cubic feet to accomadate these powerhouse 10's. I would imagine you would have to raise the height of the rear seats to accomplish the cfm's needed. Right now the subs are enclosed in two C4 boxes that sit behind the drivers and victim's seats until I come up with a solution to this prob.

This current setup with only one of the three 2000 watt RMS amp hooked up draws so much power that the alt cant handle the load when I turn it up. The alt guage falls below 12 and then the check gauges light comes on. I am also researching is if anybody can recommend a dual battery setup including a higher output alternater that can charge both batteries at the same time. I will surely need this when all three amps are hooked up.

Any Ideas.......anyone?

Here's a thread that might help you. JMB sells a battery relocation kit, you could use that for your second/dual battery and you can get a multiple battery charging/isolation device from any 4 wheel drive parts/accessories supplier as they are required for winch applications.

I think your over-drawing your battery with your current setup. 2AWG isn't nessecary (sp?) with subs that can only supply 600 watts RMS. The amp is going to draw that full 2000 watts every sub hit and in the end you might fry the truck, i know my first car i did that.. fried most of the wiring.

Oh and there should be a second battery tray in the engine bay, unless this is a '06 only thing. Perfect place to set in a nice dry-cell battery and keep the stereo seperate from the truck!!!

As for the box, I have seen the pre-fabs and custom jobs... but they can only make them around the 1.5 CI mark, which is what 1 sub of yours requires. So if you wanted you could just hook one up and keep it relatively stock, :dontknow:.

Well found you something that will come in handy.

With this you can use a dual battery setup at the flick of a switch, even isolate your main battery so as to not affect the truck's voltage.

Check out the diagrams at the bottom, first link doesn't work but the last 2 are all you really need.

Hope this helps a bit. :D

Interesting thread. Very helpfull. Couple of key points like having the batteries less than a foot away from the amps. Ideally yes however the amps are all behind the back seat. The additional batteries will be under the hood. Also you wouldn't need 25.0+ caps if you are running 2 dedicated batteries for the stereo system if you have a higher output alt. Those caps are big and where would you put them if you are trying to create an in cab tri amp setup. I had trouble fitting in the Kole 6.0 cap behind the dual speaker box under the back seat. The wiring setup can be dealt with several different ways but finding a dual 10 or 12" box that has enough cubic feet of air space and can accomadate a 10" high speaker is a real problem if you dont want to butcher the back seat area. I know this is probably too much to ask for but there has to be a solution.

Yes it helps Deibs. Bye the way thanks 4 the support on this issue along with all other forum members. This club

I've got 2 extra batteries in the bed of my truck but they only juice up the speakers and stuff in the bed. So my stock battery feeds the draw from everything in my cab (Stupid Hyper Audio) I didn't know much about audio stuff when I took my truck to them and if I knew then what I know now I'd have had some red flags but w/e
I do know I need a more powerful alternator but I'm not sure where I'm gonna put another battery cuz the paxton will take the extra tray I think.

My setup would be pretty cool if it would work and was finished properly. My advice to this thread, if you're going to pay to have it done, make damn sure to research the shop heh.

Yeah that's why I like the idea of a Battery Isolater/Combiner. It allows you to keep a stock alternator and stock battery setup, then adding a nice Stinger Dry-Cell http://cgi.ebay.ca/STINGER-SP1000-POWER2-DRY-CELL-CAR-AUDIO-BATTERY-NEW_W0QQitemZ140084168479QQihZ004QQcategoryZ33574QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

No worries.

PS: If someone wants to be nice to me, they should ship me one of those bad boys. :D I'd pay all costs,, I just can't get the stupid things due to Canadian laws, unless it's shipped privately. ;)

Very true with overdrawing the battery/alt. Although I do have 3 breakers to protect my truck from being fried (I HOPE). The speakers handle a true 1000 watts RMS in my book although they are rated at 1500 watts RMS (excursion series). I dont know the exact CI requirements for this speaker however it's much more than 1.5 CI. In my old ram I took out the back seat and made a custom box with the subs, amps, batteries, caps, etc... in the box rendering the back seat area useless. I don't want nor will I butcher the interior of this SRT. This is a fustrating subject when you want to set up a high end stereo and still have the stock interior look.

Aren't all members in this forum nice to you:dontknow:
anyways I'll be going up to Vancouver Canada this summer in the SRT. Be carefull what you ask for cause you might just get it. Check out my thread i started on snowbacks. I'm a fellow snowback as well. You'll be the first one to respond to the thread if you choose to do so.

:shot: Jeez totally forgot about that post. I think if we all show up there will be more trucks then cars, haha.

It might be a little early for you though,, probably April or May.. depending on when they open the track.

Oh and I found the Cu. Ft. for the AW1000V:

Space Saver Bass Design: Ported Opening (2 x 6.5)
Air Space - 0.65 Cu. Ft.

Everyday Bass Performer: Ported Opening (4 x 8.25)
Air Space - 1.35 Cu. Ft.

Ultimate SPL Bass Box: Ported Opening (4 x 8.25)
Air Space - 2.35 Cu. Ft.

Sealed Box System: Sealed Box
Maximum = .75 Cu. Ft.

Thank you Deibs. The cubic feet per box would need to be 2.35 Cu. Ft and be able to rest under the back seat. I will call audiobahn to see if a box exists for our SRT's that will accomadate the excursion 10" subs. These subs are the best subs i've owned to date. I highly recommend these subs.
