T STAT

With all the variables and uncertainties I would rather try and do it myself since you aren't totally sure it's a tuning issue and it could be other things, better to save the time and gas of driving out to DC, and since you tune cars regularly I don't think it will be too hard, may just take a bit longer than going to a shop where the guys have experience with these trucks.

TRU TRU, oh and to answer your question it is an Auto. Rick(phxpoolguy) and i were talking about that and im thinkin i may end up going with the 6speed manual tranny or if i decide i wanna go broke just buy the convertion kit to use the th 400 GM tranny :chain:

Have you hooked up a scan tool to see what your engine is doing? That will tell you alot even if you have a bad tune.

When i first had the tranny rebuilt they had it plugged in and said TPS wasnt reading correctly, so they unplugged it to ensure i had strong line pressure. I drove it home and bought a new TPS sensor and also at that time i had the stock v8 ram dash harness and was having some issues so i pulled the dash and finished installing the rest of the SRT10 harnesses. So now my truck has ALL SRT10 wiring harness minus the door harnesses and now i have zero check engine lights but havent plugged it in to anything else to monitor what sensors are doing :dontknow:

O2 sensors and fuel trim numbers will tell alot. Get it warm and look to see if the o2 are swaping from rich to lean and if you have any upper teens to twentys in the negitive for your fuel trims you are running rich. But i could check with my truck to get some numbers i have a roe sct tune

The truck is running rich forsure. Like i said earlier it smokes its so rich at idle and stinks like crazy. The wife drove behind me from the tranny shop and said the exhaust was spitting like 1ft flames even cruising at like 70mph on the fwy

Either way is an upgrade but I personally would do the 6 spd swap.

Tru. And the TR6060 im not not mistaken would be a bolt in application...Dont they handle even MORE power then the T56 too?

Yeah I think it should be direct fit, it's the same tranny used in the newest Vipers, Challys, V8 Camaros, Vettes, CTS-V, GT500 etc...

Wikipedia says it's rated for 600 Lb ft and seems to have a variety of different gearings to choose from. I couldn't find the torque ratings for the T-56 though to compare them but it did say that the 6060 is popular in applications where greater strength is desired so yeah I'd say it handles more power.

If you buy one see if you can find a ZL1 Camaro spec one. I know GM beefed the tranny up quite a bit to handle the extra power over the SS.

I wonder if you can order it from Tremec with custom gear ratios.

Edit: Shit when I get a 10 I'm swapping in a 6060 and putting the T-56 in my Wrangler.

Vengeancerd Transmissions

Not a bad deal. 2500 for a fully built tranny with Cryogenic tempering gears. Good for over 800+

i dont care what the hell you do to a t56 they will break and break and break and break some more!!!once you get over 1k hp....

the weight of the truck just destroys transmissions ....speaking of trannies where is dan and sanny at lol

Thermostat has been changed, and BTW im not sure why everyone says the 4th bolt is hard to get too.....i did it with my intake and everything on(tooooo easy)took about 15 minutes to drain radiator and swap out t stat. Well i heard the fan turn on for the first time EVER lol. Always thought it was turning on, but never heard it spool up like it did last night after idling for about 30 minutes lol. Truck didnt get past 170 while idling and after a couple quick passes up and down the street it never got hotter then 190-200ish. Anywho truck is still running the same as far as drivability goes, so gonna have Torrie send me a different tune and see what that does. While idling in the driveway it kinda pops and it spits little flames from the exhaust and the fumes will burn your nose and eyes on pump gas even. Crazy how rich its running. When i give it full throttle it rips solid(minus the fact that my brand new POS 48re wont shift) but when i try to just cruise it it feels like the throttle peddle dies but then i give it a little more gas and it revs the hell up. :dontknow:
