Here are a few updates:

1: I got the tranny rebuilt and the truck pulls harder than the day I bought it:D ... very happy with the results. The clutches were next to gone... I can only assume that a 300+ shot of NOS is what did it in... with that said I'll see if I can possibly up the boost and lower the shot:dontknow: ... the highest boost I've seen is 6.6... before there were 4 clutch packs... now there are 6 to help disipate heat <tho they are thinner>

2: I've got a blower belt on order(mines frayed/squeeking) and then off to DC to install that & go over the truck with me (i.e. programming etc...)
3: I've got to buy a fire jacket :p well in theory I do anyway
4: I checked the slicks they've got plenty of life left in em

I'm hoping to get to a test n tune in may at Famoso early May, my goal is to be low 12's or high 11's @ ~118...

the tranny rebuild ate away at my header cash.... that'll have to wait for a bit....:D if it dyno's ~ 720 with the headers I'll be very happy... stay tuned...

p.s. had stinkers rear-end serviced as well....it's an impressive piece... and while the tranny didn't hold up to the abuse... the rear-end did, it should be on everyones go fast plan list:D

Good news Bandit! Did you go with the same rebuilder for the transmission?

Westminster did the original build and did a rebuld last february... and although Joe seemed like a standup guy I wasn't happy with the following
A: he wanted 3K-3700K to rebuild an 11 month old tranny
B: he stated that the NOS wasn't on the truck when he built it (which was the reason he built it up last time)
C: apparently there is no warranty on his work and/or his parts
D: it cost me $80 in gas to drive to westminster & back:p

I looked around a bit and found a great transmission guy at one of the local stealerships... he's a drag racer himself, has worked on the trucks before and is very familiar with the 48RE and let me see what was going on once he had it open...

I really wanted to get stinkers transmission, and if I had a stock transmission I would have bought it... but in the end It's going to be easier for me to have a local guy do the work <and I have a warranty as well>

 Did I just read "headers"?:dontknow: :D I saw Mike run 12.00 all day long with no NOS at Fomoso.

There's really nothing else left to do.... I'm hard pressed to believe that headers are going to NOT give any benefit... so short of Dan & Chris talking me out of it... they'll go in.... eventually...

and yeah I'm thinking high 11's shouldn't be a problem... if it is, I'll turn on a little juice :D

run the juice, i was there for the 10 sec run, and if you say it pulls harder, you might be able to break the tank's record, if it will stay hooked!

Glad to see you got the Tank back on the road................putting headers in the Tank.....now that would be awesome!!! I think Mike would actually post up on that thread!! LOL
