Thank god for the Hennessey advice

I have allways had high respects for JH, I know that he had problems in the past, and yes there were quite some large open wounds on this site.

But I think that both him and Dave are doing the right thing by personally posting here and trying to make amends, granted yes it will take time to heal those wounds but you have to start somewhere.

Though I have returned my 10 back to stock, and am in process of selling it, only because I want to buy a Viper car.

Now I am not at the point where I am prepared to buy from JH yet, but I do believe in a company/persons ability to make amends and do the right thing to regain the trust of customers.

With that said, because I am close to making a decision on a car, what I will be doing with it, and who I will have do the build, I am going to watch and see how this unfolds, because I know for one that I can not afford to buy and have a car built only to have the engine grenade and not have the builder stand behind his work.
You could always sue him ;) :D

Deleated info to non forum vendor

I have watched this thread progress since it's inception.

There is no legitimate "fix" for the oiling problems over 5500 RPM unless you go to a external pump ie; dry sump or external pump. Both of which are made by Daley Engineering.

A larger gearotor has been tried and it does not correct the cavitation problems inherent to the design. Volume and pressure is not a problem untill they cavitate.

Dave was correct in increasing the rod bearing clearance, the part he left out is the grooved main bearings to supply oil to the rod bearings.

Dave and John H please do not attempt to sell parts or services here as I personally do not want you here, your spots are still very clear in my mind.

That is a very strong position on the situation. Jack you have always been a stand up guy in my book and I will stand with you on this. I did not have any dealing with H and will not until his reputation is repaired. This might take a long time but at least the first steps are being taken by H to rebuild his name.

I hope that the new management can build a solid reputation over time and until then I stand with Jack.

I don't think that we should necessarily crucify them by stating that they are not wanted on the site. Unlike my dealings with Paxton, where they choose to not do anyting at all... and outright lied in court about how things went down.... albeit the fact that mine was less than $1,000 lesson learned, and the things with H were of much grander scale.... but here at least H is trying to do the right thing, and make amends, so I dont think that we should scare them off, and chase them away, and discourage them from trying to do the right thing.

Yes, it will take time for those things to heal... as it will with all bad experiences.

I like the way Dave is handling this situation. However I think he has a long and difficult road to reach his destination. I wish you all the best Dave.

Bill.

Thanks Guys....I am not here trying to sell anything. I stumbled across this site when someone posted something regarding me personally. But now I am also happy that at least some dialog has been opened..

i guess i can add my 2 cents. I have had good and bad experiences at hennessey. I have bought a couple of intakes, throttle bodies, computers, etc. from hennessey. There is a girl there i think her name is Jennifer if i remember right. She has always been great, very nice and accomadating. I have always had good service out of their products. BUT, the last intake i bought was suppose to be chrome like the first one. But it came in polished, so i called hennessey and was told that we decided to do polished instead of chrome. My reply was you should have changed your website or at least told me when i ordered it.The website still claims chrome. Any way the polished was too much trouble to keep up. So know i am out 1500.00 plus my intake for the core. I finally just sent it to jmb and had justin powdercoat it gloss black and clear it. Looks great and no up keep. The bottom line is they should have taken it back and sent me my core.

Don't think you can blame bad mechanics for that one? Since the running thread is it was all the mechanics fault. Not I run the company and what happens on my watch is my fault, but it was the staffs' fault.

If I ran my company that way, I would have been out a long time ago.

Can we end this thread now?

One other thing, when is the last time that a subject got 12 pages of posts in under 3 days?

You are relatively new arn't you. ;) :p :D Hell, the professional post ho's can rack up 12+ pages in a single night.

Interesting thread..
I have heard all the horror stories, read all the negative threads..I remember warning people to stay away from JH and Co, based on what I read..Seems like the work done was hit or miss..I read some great stuff about John's work in various magazines..I read some not so great stuff about his work on line. I have to say, I am impressed that Dave is willing to stay on here, try to mend some fences. I am even more impressed that John has posted on this thread..
And I am just blown away that Walt would still do business with John. Kudos to you Walt..I know you are not a foolish man and for you to say that is testament to the type of person you are. While Dave and John have a long way to go, I would think Walts post and Johns post would make people think twice about why they feel the way they do..Confidence in someones ability to do the right thing is very hard to change one way or the other. It can be done, it isnt easy..For people to suggest that Mr Hennesey repay people for shoddy workmanship while nice in theory, it just isnt realistic in my opinion. If McDonalds had to repay every person who got a bad burger, well they wouldnt be in business much longer. Some of you may thing John doesnt deserve to be in business given his past history..Well, if you feel that way, dont buy from him..but at least give him a chance to turn things around..Time is going to tell how sincere he and Dave are...I wish you both the best of luck..your gonna need it here...

Fastjack, we are not here to do an infomercial and will not promote any product or service as we are not site sponsors.

Glad to see you are being a good sport about all of this.... (WALT)

It's strange.... but, it's good to see you here, John H. I wish you the very best luck with the "new crew". It seems, at least with Dave, you have found some good folks.

That SRT-8 Jeep you have on EBay is looking better and better, as this thread progresses. (For Sarah, of course)

Jack, i'm glad you are taking that position. as most of us know, JH has screwed over way too many people, and has not made amends to 99% of them. he's had a hundred chances to redeem himself and make things right, but instead he just keeps screwing people over.
